Stones B-Sides: "Sad Day"
Posted by: Amused ()

According to Wikipedia, in 1973 the Stones released You Can't Always Get What You Want as a single. B side was "Sad Day" (Jagger/Richards)... WTF? Any more info about this song? I'd love to hear it!

Or maybe it's only fake (NZentgraf does not say anything about it!)?

Sounds like a Klein-idea...

Yep, originally B-side of "19th Nervous Breakdown". Before net, it was quite a rare item. There was album called NO STONE UNTURNED I think it was also included (a lot of rare b-sides and other rarites as well, such as "Who's Driving Your Plane?", "Long Long While" and "Surprise Surprise")

Indeed it was a sad day in the stones history when they cut that track. By far not one of their best ...

Great song, still play it very often.

Sad Day is indeed one of the most unsung Stones tracks. Its a classic mid-tempo Stones pop song, very catchy with great verse and chorus. The end of the song kind of hints at psychedelia with that strange sound coming from electric guitar.

Great, great song!!

"No Stone Unturned" was the first Stones album I ever got for myself -I did not know at the time that The Rolling Stones themselves condomned this release. Good thing, I did not or I would have maybe not heard it before they released "The Singles Collection"

"Someone woke me up this morning, and I lit a cigarette..." Great opening line for a great song smileys with beer

thanks for this winking smiley
I expected it to be a song from Goats Hed Soup sessions, that's why I got so interested about it... But anyway I have to hear it.
And of course I know "Singles Collection" - though I never owned this compilation! next time I'm in the music store, I'm gonna take a look (and a listen!), thanks winking smiley
