They said after the 02 last year there would be no more large world tours but smaller ones and i'm sure that's what they'll do.
The Stones didnt say it at all.
There were a few newspaper stories quoting people "close to them" as saying it

I believe we have seen the last tour of this band of musicians. Age/infirmity preclude any chance we'll ever see a full-blown tour again.
Now, do I think the Stones will do a few one-offs here and there? Yes.
Do I think we'll ever see them commit 6 months or a year or two years of their lives to tour again? No. I believe Keith and Charlie and Ronnie each have health issues that won't allow it.

My sources say fall 2009. But first: The Winos (at least an effort to try to get them together)

What form do you think a Winos project would really take. I know Keith said something about the band not being up for a full album and maybe just a few songs for download.
I am always wrong about everything I try to predict but I would think that some kind of a Best Of Keith Richards CD with some new Winos tracks filling it out would make more sense.
Anybody agree?

There is an article today in a belgian newspaper that says that the stones won't be able to smoke at their gig in the Amsterdam Arena this summer because of the ban...

If I could trust them to do that properly, I'd probably agree.

..and for the record, it wasnt a case of people getting their info wrong re - 2008. The Stones changed their minds, as they did in 1996 and 2004, and for some reason decided not to go on the road.

i'm expecting the first archive volume to be an entire 3-cd set devoted to the making and evolution of streets of love.

With an interactive DVD where I have evidence on my cellphone of you singing along to it at Twickenham

They havent done one offs in over three decades. It'll require a totally different MO in the way theyve operated for many years to do anything like that. They seem incapable of being able to get together to work for any reason unless it requires a sustained period of activity.
That's because it takes them three months of rehersal just to re-learn enough of their songs to be able to play an entire set. Not much point in trying to play one-offs with that kind of limitation.

I think that one major factor that could impact a Stones tour is the depression in the USA! Yes, not recession, border-line depression and at $400 a wack(per show) I can tell you for sure, my shows will be few and far between. This is a first for me! I always made it work, found extra $$ to travel to the shows and buy the best seats but unless something reverses the trend, it will be a bleak tour at best. I can see half full arenas, even at smaller venues. Maybe the prices will actually DECREASE.....yeah, right, dumb thought.
