They are still good. It's a little strange seeing a lady do a lot of the lead vocals. Remarkably, I think all of the original band members remain. I plan on seeing them next month.
I saw them 2 years ago. I was turned onto them back in the 70s, with their live record, Waiting for Columbus.
Lowell George is sadly gone, replaced by Fred Tacket (who plays multiple instruments and handles some vocals) and a woman (whose name escapes me).
They are looser, more 'jammy' but still great musicians...esp Kenny Gradney on bass.
I was disapponted with the show....and it's my fault...for expecting to hear more Waiting for Columbus era stuff. They did play some (Fat Man in the Bathtub, Willin, Oh Atlanta, Old Folks Boogie, Dixie Chicken) but often abridged versions that went to a jam....
It was a free show, and I definitely go my money's worth. Not sure if I'd pay to see them as a headliner.
