When the stones started their A Bigger Bang tour, I decided to see if i could be like Keith through out the whole tour. I built this interesting looking stage with a DVD screen and lights. I played every night the stones did through out their whole tour. If the stones played on a certain day, I played that same day, but i played the setlist from the past show. I even practiced every song they rehearsed in rehersals. I would plug my guitars in to my amp located at the bottom of the set up and i played along with all the songs. I used the four flicks DVDs for the screen if certain songs were in the setlist. The rest was based on either live cd recordings or orginal cd recordings
For The Keith songs i sang them with a microphone. For the B - Stage i put the amp and cd player on a wagon and my friend push it out during the song Miss You, Under My Thumb or IORR so i was closer to the people or even in the middle of the people who came to see me. My friend would wheel the wagon back for Honky Tonk Women. He also would tune one guitar while i played the other one. I have a fender telecaster in open G tunning, 5 strings, like Keith's and a I have a black Epiphone in standard tunning which looks similar to Keiths gibson. I even dressed like Keith and wore lots of bandannas and clothing ranging from lepoard jackets to black dress clothes. I even had friends do the same thing and open for me. A close friend of mine dressed up as Mick Mars and did some good Motley Crue acts.
When the stones played Stadium shows i played outdoors or in garages, depending on rain. For Arena shows i played in basements and for theater shows i played in living rooms. The scales of the stages for each were different. I also used the stadium dvd for outdoor or garage shows. The arena DVD for Basement shows and sometimes if i could fit the DVD screen, the theater dvd for theater shows. I used fireworks for outdoor shows and confetti for indoor shows. I put the cases of Stones Records on the stage. A red rotating light was used for Sympathy. A disco ball and other cool lighting gadgets i used for encore songs.
I started off as a decent guitarist, but i have found more skill through out the journey and i got good at improvising and making up riffs. Some shows were wilder than others. One show i did in 2007 i started off and it was 90 degrees and in November of 2006 there was one show where it was 30. I no im obssesed but im addmitting it.
