Here is an interesting quote from a recent Nils Lofgren interview:

The band, musically, is in the best shape we've ever been, I think," says Lofgren, an E Street Band member since 1984. "The whole show has become one long improv/audible now; sometimes (Springsteen) changes the first song on the way to the stage, and usually by the second song he's calling audibles, so the set list is useless. It's fun to be part of something ... where a band leader can do that much improv and get away with it and have a band that'll deliver and make it work. So, it's all really a pretty historic run, from my perspective."

Interesting indeed! Especially regarding the fact that the E-Street Band is missing one of its oldest members (in terms of membership) nowadays.

I've stopped wishing for the Stones to pull off something like this.
On the other, I think Springsteen is almost the only artist who'd
be able to do shows with these large changes in the setlists.
There's only one word to describe it : Amazing!!!

This is nothing but amazing!!! 4 Tour premieres in St.Louis (all of them covers, and songs Rolling Stones fans would also have recognized). Then another 4 Tour premieres in Kansas City, among them Ricky and Cynthia and as a cover "It's all over now" sung by Mrs. Tyrell!

Once again hats off to this incredible artist, band and the fantastic shows. 20 song sets and then another 9 songs as encores. Magic indeed!

Thanks Lukester. I've tried not to go on and on about it. But,now that the tour is basicly over and just the Harleyfest left. I think Gazza said something like this is the best tour done by any major act in several years. I couldn't agree more. The St Louis show was one of the best shows I have ever seen by anybody and the best Bruce show of the tour.thumbs up

could not agree more! just got back to Ohio, completely drained. saw both Missouri shows. I've seen close to 60 Stones concerts dating to 1972, many on back-to-back nights. some real great ones. but this was the best back-to-back nights of rock & roll I have ever witnessed. 46 different songs in 2 nights. 6.5 total hours of music, 58 songs in all. amazing performance. Mary's Place was phenomenal.

Hilarious video with Springsteen performing Glory Days while posing on a piano.
