Nice to see that again.

Broadcast on one of (if not THE) first ever editions of "The Tube" on Channel 4 in December 1982.

Also featured some interviews with fans at the gig, clips from the NME Pollwinners show from 1965 and an interview with Mick backstage at Bristol on 27.6.82 by the late Paula Yates.

Brilliant. I wept, this was my 2nd ever Stones show (first stadium gig).

Wow, that was the best version of "Time Is On my Side" I've seen from 1981/2 tour - surely better than the ones in LSTNT or Hampton - they sound almost as good as in over-dubbed STILL LIFE version. Especially Keith is doing great work.

Great Keith 'harmony' vocals.

A Norwegian I met later that week had arrived that day from Bergen (to Newcastle) on the ferry. He had no idead they were playing, He managed to get in and was very well impressed. He couldn't believe all the soloing they were doing.

He did say that it was very cold - which their breath shows too.

That's Newcastle in June for you.

Well, Norway is bigger than most people think. South to north cover the same distance as Oslo to Rome. The southern parts of Norway isn't that cold, actually smiling smiley

It was a great evening despite the constant drizzle. Fantastic support with George Thorogood and J.Geils. I was only 18 at the time and travelled down from Glasgow on my own. One of the things that sticks in my mind is hooking up with this couple from Lincoln(?) who were probably in their 40's who said they'd been following The Stones since the beginning but they were sure this would be the last tour!

What did they know?!

I got reports from 'Look North' broadcast same night as the gig and following evening. Did look damp. Great footage of Mick and Keith arriving backstage. Mick rubbing his hands together feeling the cold. Keith pulling the collar of his jacket up. All on VHS so I can't show you guys but I guess if you were in Tyne Tees at the time you'll remember.

That's great! yes it was cheap in those days. I still have a ticket stub from Buffalo 81 can't believe the cheap price. Also they made more colorful stubs in those days, each city was a different color.

Time Is On Our Side from Newcastle nicely sums up what I love about the Stones: its simple, not overloaded like today with all those backing musicians, bare to the bone, tremendously soulful and ultimately moving - the music simply reaches ones soul! plus, Keith is really leading the band, they follow his guitar, and his playing is ultimately effective - not one note too less, but not one note too much at the same time. hes not noodling on top of an orchestra like nowadays - here his guitar IS the orchestra - and the others follow him. and Mick, well, what can I say, one can really hear that he really feels what hes singing.

Barnum in town with MJ as clown of the day

I am pretty sure Mick would be surprised and regret such peculiar clothes of this day.
