Chuck Berry Santa Cruz de Tenerife Concert,Friday, March 28th 2008
54 minutes of concert were enough to distinguish a full blooded man of rock and roll. At the Pabellon of Sports in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, a cyclone called Chuck Berry was around us!!!
It could be his resident card certified was born in October of 1926, but who´d wanted more than one arrived his age with the energy spreaded last night by the Almirant of Rock and Roll, in his first scale at the island.
Charles Edward Anderson Berry was presented with his sailor hat, a passion colour shirt, long black pants, and almost a thousand and half of fans had a good time with his rock and roll music.
Sang with his typical voice, dare with a guitar solos great reserve and even dance!!
He had the virtue to leave the main stage and let the whole band play but itself so the crowd could enjoy the talent of the musicians.
In the middle of a magistral class of primitive r&r of the 50´s, a little bad thing the acoustic of the place was very bad.
He sang all his hits, even tried to sing in Spanish a ranchera!!!
Typical movements and riffs, Berry Style, he did the duckwalk at the Johnny B Good, girls dancing on the stage, but one guy could get it, and Chuck was surprised about that, he sit a couple time to rest, at the begining was checking the sound of the guitar of his song, the members of the band were from Norway, piano, Drums, Germany, Bass and Lead Guitar United States.
At the end his son, introduce and claimed Chuck is the creator of r&r and after him many artist have continued his legacy.
Chuck before leave the stage shout us very loud , I LOVE YA, I LOVE YOU TENERIFE!!!
God Bless Chuck Berry,
Carlitos
