i believe it's a difference between UK and US spelling, not an accident.
it was more of an accident to get the track list in the wrong order on LIB

Thanks Jos
That is probably the version I am talking about ,different cover though to the original, very similar to the Live and Electric which itself has a second CD with bonus tracks , not that they are his best work.
The Japanese S A L is on ebay currently for $49.99 plus shipping $13.50 to UK makes it about £32 , thing is do I buy this version now or get the UK version which is £8.95 shipped free and wait till the Japanese version comes down to a more reasonable price .

>> $49.99 plus shipping $13.50 to UK makes it about £32 <<

in case the information helps anyone: ordering the SHM version from hmv.jp
it came out to 51 USD/26 GBP/33.33 EUR, including shipping to europe.

So what exactly is SUPER HIGH MATERIAL cd? Better than a normal cd but not a SACD?

an SACD is a different audio technology; an SHM-CD is a CD made of better material.
it's supposed to sound better - i'll find out, i guess

got a Japanese version of Alfie soundtrack but there is no bonus on my copy , was meant to be Old Habits ' with Sheryl Crow but it's not on there.

You need to get the japanese promo version that has the LA acoustic version of "Old Habits"
The Sheryl Crow version brings nothing imha as it appears to be a fake duet.

Ha ha! I found this about 'gimmie': [golf.about.com]

Eh, I've always thought it was just spelled wrong. I've never seen gimmee spelled with an ie except on the Stones albums and I just figured it was ABKCO/Decca/London being pricks.

I just received the following from amazon.co.jp regarding my pre-order of
??????????. Shine a light, that is.

We have learned that there has been a delay with some of the item(s) in your order
indicated above. When your order is shipped you will receive an e-mail message confirming the date,
contents and method of shipment. As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for items until
they enter the shipping process, so you will not be charged for this item until it is available and we have shipped it to you.

I'm so unhappy.
How many others have this problem.
Should I cancel and order somewhere else?
Do they just do this to sell a few extra copies in Europe? Is this some evil scheme because they know I will not be able to wait?

i am assuming that this nipponese sal with undercover will have all japanese writing, or outside of the main title anyway?

and it also has some spoken piece by Scorsese?

will the same delay be there for the hmv.jp as if u buy the one from amazon.jp?

and what are the shipping times for either of these to the US or to Europe?

I've rarely ever had the sunday morning starting off so badly.

Whale,

Japanese versions will be released on Apr 9.

Btw,
which version did you reserve, SHM-CD version for 3800 yen or regular double CDs for 3300 yen?
I do not want to force you, but I recommend you to have SHM-CD version.
Because SHM-CD version of Satanic, Beggars and LIB released in the end of January is hard to get now.
They are now double or triple priced in the secondhand market.

And the sound quality of SHM-CD is surprising to me. Warm, base boosted and stereoscopic.
You can play it on your existing audio system.

I have reserved Van Morrison's "It's Too Late To Stop Now" and Billy Preston's "Live European Tour" today.
Both will be released soon as SHM-CDs.

ok...slightly unclear....

are all of the SAL 2 disk sets SHM-CD?
is there a regular 2 disk and a SHM 2 disk?
is there a co$t difference?

is this the same with Japanese (+ undercover) edition? regular & shm?

and for those who buy the initial release....and then regret
it when a special collectible edition comes out....I'm sure this
will be the case when they release the movie on dvd...they'll probably
have an optional package that includes the double cd, "making of" bonus dvd,
both complete Beacon shows, a poster, keychain...and one of charlie's
right nostril hairs.......all package in a pleather case. winking smiley

and wait til you see the blu-ray version!

IORR............but I like it!

no

yes

yes

here are the different versions hmv.jp is offering: [www.hmv.co.jp]

regretting is never worth the bother - when a better version comes out, give the first one to someone as a gift.
or sell it. or consider yourself a collector. but don't regret it - that ain't what it's for!

OK, I can see the shm version on hmv, but not on amazon japan. Even in the "translation" page, I see mostly info in Japanese. They talk about buying the package together of the CD and the "Soundtrack."

Here are the 4 choices I found on amazon japan:

I should ask exactly what is the "soundtrack" and how is is different from the CD?

Anyway, guess will buy the shm edition from hmv which does not seem to have a shipping issue anyway.

just tried to order -- shm only seems to ship to cities within Japan, so far have not found an international shipping option

Someone said there was a delay in shipping with amazon. That's why I was trying to buy from hmv. What do you know about this, Toru?

If there is a problem with Amazon's shipping, is there a way to order from hmv so they will ship to the States? Thanks.

HMV Japan accepts orders of SHM-CD-Shine-A-Light from overseas.

Please remember release date will be Apr 9th in Japan in either Amazon or HMV.

OK, I just ordered on HMV. Seems to be about $10 cheaper than thru Amazon Japan. The difference is in the shipping.

Total on Amazon was about $57 and on HMV was about $47.

I think both sites warned that actual shipping could be higher at time of shipping.

Also, HMV said:

Estimated Delivery by: 09 Apr 2008

but that is the date of release, what does this mean?

An example of SERNO trading card.

And the poster(515mm×728mm) is included on a first-come-first-served basis if you order SHM-CD edition from HMV Japan.

I just ordered my Japanese copy from HVM. I wonder if iTunes will sell Undercover as a bonus track? I know some albums with bonus "non album" tracks, they will allow one to buy the extra tracks without buying the entire album. I know they did that with Paul McCartney's Memory Almost Full.
