OT: Anybody seen Nazareth lately?
Posted by: Infamy ()

The old rockers are on their 40th anniversary tour, and they are playing near my hometown in may. Are they still worth seeing? I have been playing their live album "Snaz" today, and I think it still sounds great! What do you guys think?

Great reviews from my county's Northernmost outpost of Örnsköldsvik.
There were a videolink from the gig; can link it later if ya want.

Hi guys,

I´m going to see them 12th August. Nazareth will warm-up Deep Purple. I`ll be first-timer to both these acts.

Nice to hear that! Ørnskøldsvik was in january, right? They`re coming to Leknes, Lofoten to play Lofothallen, with a capacity of 1200 people. 300 tickets sold already! It`s a 70 km drive each way. Would like it very much to see that video. Thank you!

Still searchin' for the vid clip
Here's a review [allehanda.se]
...Most seem happy except a general complaint about the mix/sonic
conditions (but that seems more to gop with the venue).

Till next time: Try use the search function after "Nazareth";
I want to recall I started a certain thread on this, on Nazareth.

A Shame they dont play in Tröndelag.

Great clip, thank you very much! Looks like they are still going strong, indeed. Here`s one from 1981, Hair of the dog!:

They do a nice version of Nils Lofgren's "Beggar's Day". He also wrote "Keith Don't Go", so now it's Stones-related.

Just looked through my LP`s and found four with Nazareth. One of them, The ballad album, has a version of Ruby Tuesday! It goes pretty fast. So you are right, Elmo Lewis, definately Stonesrelated!

Ok, so it`s just like Dr.Hook then. Two bands with the same name! Imagine the Stones touring as two groups!

I`m going to the one with Dan McCafferty. I think his voice is essential to the sound. Thanks for the clip, Baboon. I see McCafferty likes the Stones. That`s a good sign.

I'd like to see McCafferty's Nazareth too. After all,
he has Peter Agnew "intact" on bass.

Nevertheless; I find also Manny Charlton's alarmin' bottleneck-ish
guitar sound essential. I wish they/Dan could reunite with Manny.
