16 shows? No, there's 23 shows plus Altamont and the UK shows, CC.

oh, that sounds right. The photo caption says 16 shows in 23 days. Maybe the writers missed the days with 2 shows. Still, that's fewer than I imagined... a collectible number, anyway.

Yes, it's a collectible number - and only 19 of those 23 are available on recording. Though it's not as easy to complete as the 71 UK Tour...only 3 shows available + Marquee Club.....what a shame!

Plus the fact that it was an somehow interesting tour in small theaters!
It's a pity there ain't more from those gigs!

The band was torn about which American television show to appear on. The Smothers Brothers were regarded as much hipper, but Ed Sullivan reached a wider audience. Despite a face-to-face meeting with Tommy Smothers (above, second from right), the band opted for Sullivan.

Some things don't change - Mick, ever the businessman.

That's terrific, Keithfan64 - many a time when I see old photos/footage, I wonder where all the people in the audience are now and whether they are still fans. Good to know that at least one of them is still a fan!!
