naw - nothing wrong with that. In my book, it's only worth doing a cover version if you're going to make it completely different to the original - so much so that a person who didn't know it was a cover would enjoy the song on its own merits.

Hall & Oates' 2cd anhology. I used to hate them, then a couple of years ago had an itch to hear 'Private Eyes'. I decided they're good, so it's not really guilty pleasure anymore, even if my friends try to shame me when they see the comp lying around my house

i don't feel guilty about listening to music i enjoy.
If a melody or a lyric makes a connection, its a nice thing.
Some of the finest and most intricate musical arrangements
were written/composed by Abba.
Great pop music, but deemed by idiots, who

The ultimate uncool, guilty pleasure of mine has to be "Glen Campbell Live at the Garden State Theatre 1969". Alas, it was never brought out on CD, but my mini-disc-from-tape-from-vinyl recording gets an airing every now and then, as he croons through some of Jimmy Webb's finest creations.
Sadly, his career went quickly and completely MOR and that was it.

I guess Def Leppard, although I seem to have misplaced Vault. I had High 'N' Dry - a superb album, Pyromania, Hysteria and Adrenalize, got rid of all of them, got Vault and I guess I got rid of that one.
But for some reason a part of me wants to get the re-released Hysteria with all the b-sides and live tracks....

Yeah, I've always thought that term "Guilty Pleasure" was ridiculous.As a few other folk have noted on here, I don't feel guitly about any music I may love and I don't care whether it's deemed acceptable by the hipsters and/or critics or not. From Black Flag to the Bee Gees, if the song moves ya, it's a great thing and absolutely no shame should be felt.

oasis. don't really feel guilty about it, as they've got some decent songs but I know, they're pretty much hated by critics. but as andrewm noted, that shouldn't mean a lot to ya.
