Sorry if this is somebody on iorr. I know it's anal but I actually get annoyed when someone insists a song like Midnight Rambler is in open G. Am I the only one?

there are many ways and tunings to play a song. doesnt really matter - as long as it sounds good. this version doesnt sound right in my ears though...

Yeah that Midnight Rambler guy really was way off. In fact, I'm the first post on that video telling him that Open G is not the way to go on this song. This guy also has other videos...again showing the riff "Bitch" in Open G.

Some people think Keith plays Open G for eeeeeeeverything. Not so.

Well, here's my two pennyworth. Most of the Youtube stuff I've seen showing us all how to play Stones sogs is wrong, and some of it is quite bad actually, and inaccurate. There are however, a few gems out there, such as Justin Sandercoe, who used to play for the Counterfeit Stones Counterfeit Stones website here

Justin knows his stuff, so search for his Youtube videos. Just my opinion.

really good Open G lesson from a greast pro teacher and great player.
he takes it slow and easy so you can practice with him and nails the stones stuff quite nicely.

i use standard and open D mostly myself, but have learned a lot of acoustic fingerstyle and other things from his vids, acoustic and electric.
great player, cool spirit and most importantly, a really good teacher, nice clear close up vids. you can download the lesson in charts for free from his site also. hope someone finds this helpful.

here's justin with the 'open g tuning' lesson, very basic, including how to tune it and several stones examples. (start me up, brown sugar, HTW).
