this is a really cool version. Its more Rock n roll and "stones" sounding than the original yet it still maintains a reggae beat.

although I have I tunes, I don't have an I tunes account so I held a tape cassette recorder up to my computer speakers and pressed record. Thats how people did it back in the old days.

I like the song although it is hard to hear Keith's parts. It sounds pretty close to the take recorded by Clapton. The lead guitar parts that Eric plays are pushed in the front, while Keith's parts, mostly rythm, are buried in the mix. Keith's parts are good but will be at an advantage with a "lighter" mix a more intimate version without all the voices covering up what Keith does with his guitar.

Does anyone know: What's the tune they're playing at the very beginning of this track... right before they hit the drums.

Keith plays a little lick, and then makes a comment about 'having his hand in the old bag again' (laughter, drums, and pressure drop begins).

So, what's that tune they're playing? It's driving me NUTS!! (lol)

If anyone can provide any insight, I'd love to hear from you - thanks!

Robert Palmer backed by Little Feat also does a pretty good version on the 1975 Pressure Drop album. Well worth checking out if you like southern funky groove a la The Meters and of course Little Feat.

The best version of pressure drop they did was with Eric Clapton. He played a wah wah and the version absolutely rocks!!!!

a very joyful noise - i've been listening to it 4 times a day since it came out.
i'd love it if more of Keith's singing were audible, but i also love the way he kinda sneaks in there

it's gonna drop on you :E

Just 4 ?? I've been listening to it 4 times an HOUR. Love it. How are you lady sssoul ? Well I hope. Happy Xmas 2008.

It's not a Christmas song...but I got it last year with RUN RUN RUDOLPH and it has become a Christmas song in my house between RUN RUN RUDOLPH and James Brown's "LET's MAKE THIS CHRISTMAS MEAN SOMETHING THIS YEAR".

I love the track...it just has a Happy Keith all over it...sounds great!

It´s the song played slowly on acoustic guitar, isn´t it?

For me Toots was the highlight of the Stones' AHOY show in 2003!

Keith's 'Harder They Come' was not that great, more like a one-take demo - apart from his solo maybe, "gitar, mon ........"
