Start me up in 1981. I got the 7" single. Then I got "Waiting on a friend" and made my family listen to its B "Little T&A". The lyrics were well above my age, but that riff... Then I started saving to buy each and every stones record.

The song that REALLY REALLY REALLY got me on the Stones-wagon was Jumping Jack Flash which I heard on the radio as I was waiting in the corridor outside a school library just before going in to take a pretty crucial exam. The other song that was absolutely crucial in hooking me forever was Get Off Of My Cloud; well the entire album really - Big Hits - High Hide and Green Grass.

It's Only Rock'n'Roll. I saw the video back in 1975.

For me, it was the mono single 45 of "Tumbling Dice"/"Sweet Black Angel". I was 15 in 1972, and frankly, until that point I'd never been a big Stones fan.

I'd never heard such a cacophony of sound from a Stones track until TD. The guitars, the backing vocals shouting to be heard above the din, MT's slinky basslines, and MJ's indecipherable lyrics just captivated me. Soon after that I started collecting the albums.

Start me up in 81.

My son (age 4) is hooked onto it as well, without me really pushing it.

"Start Me Up" in 1981 got me to get the album TATTOO YOU, and then the whole album really turned me on, especially "Little T&A" and "Waitin' On A Friend".

Before that I was awere of some of their older big hits, and I remember especially liking "Paint It Black", but the brand new "Start Me Up" was the song that made the real impression, and got me hooked.

The first song I ever heard from the Stones - Tell Me. I heard it & it was love at first listen. This was definately much darker/harder than the She Loves You/I wanna hold your hand pop.
