Blondie Chaplin is playing on Red House also. He toured with Taylor in the late 80's

notice - taylor at that time was not using a pick and perfected his thumb technique to get that famous vibrato and tone.

It should be 1/5 of the former stone will always live, on his playing is timeless and soon 2/5 of the former stones will be on stage together Bill Wyman. I would bet that musically them two on stage will blow away the current live act we now still call the greatest rock and roll band .

Ablett surely does not have the musical understanding to see Taylors greatness.

Whoa, Mick is STRONG on Fed Up With the Blues, people.

I'm a big Ronnie fan I saw Mick with the Stones in '69 and '72, but I've always loved what Ron Wood does.

But Mick is TOUGH on the above song. It's the real deal. Just sayin'!

The only one that I recall is the Fed Up/Tore Down show, which was with the Dead Elvi in April 2003.

(Open-G, might you have the Bluesbreakers song requested in Hot Stuff? Thanks)

Mick Taylor could play better blues in his sleep than most guitarists will ever do. And I love Ronnie. There should'nt be arguments about who does what, they are just different stylists and great friends. Its like a texan trying to decide if he thinks Billy Gibbons or Johnny Winter is a better bluesman. I hope Mick stays around a long time and gets more active!!!! We need him.

He sure does play that guitar, but I couldn't picture him with the Stones today. Don't think he would fit in winking smiley

Nice finger picking by Taylor. Very lyrical playing. Tore Down is one of my favorite tunes.

How about that backing band with an Elvis impersonator on bass....

MT can still play okay, but he certainly can't sing.

Don't be so petty. He has all his hair. He doesn't have to dye it. And he can still play. But speaking of some searing blues playing, I have an '86 recording with one of the best guitar versions of Going Down I've ever heard. It's gritty, in the pocket and smokes. The Stones just can't play that stuff.

Thanks for the clips OpenG.
Good stuff. Nothing beats MT's silky, bluesy and melodic guitar playing.

To the person calling him/herself I Wish I Never Met You who finds it necessary to make a derogatory comment on MT's appearance:
I don't think there's anything wrong with the way Taylor looks. So what if three of the remaining Stones are impish looking, thin-as-a-rake kind of fellows. Maybe some people find it glamourous or something but in my opinion RW and KR do not look all that healthy.

Taylor happens to be someone with broad shoulders who is 6 ft tall and quite stocky overall. That's his natural build, he's a strong and pretty muscular guy. Great hair too, representing strength like a lion's manes.
I bet MJ, RW or KR would not want to get into a fight with mountain lion Taylor.
