I always thought it's "don't run from the beginning, just prop us in". I am sure it's Keith through the studio's talk back mike though.

For what it's worth (from the songbook "The Rolling Stones guitar anthology") "Don't hear it from the beginning; just drop it in" According to the songbook, it's the producer Chris Kimsey.
I think Eric Snow has it right... It's Ronnie Wood...and Ronnie is directing the engineer to get straight to the part of the song where he has to overdub or correct a guitar part.
I don't think Wood ever was in the position to direct any recording session, and in a '83 Guitar Magazine interview with Richards he clarifies that it is him through the intercom.

I think that's the correct version; as far as I know, Kimsey is suggesting Keith not to try to put an intro before the beat comes in.
