If you look at the cover of the official book of the gig you will see that Ronnie Wood is listed as playing support

Anyone know if this is true ?

Very odd...yet he's not listed as a performer on the list of acts underneath it.

Paul Rodgers is also listed in a similar way.

Maybe they're acting as MC? (Woody for the Rhythm Kings, of course)

Foreigner are playing? That's bad...
I mean it's for a good cause, but...

Regarding Ronnie: I guess he'll have a guest spot somewhere during the show, not as an MC but he'll play, maybe in the Grand Finale?

Zeppelin are the 'grande finale'..I doubt the whole cast will be getting together 'Last waltz' style at the end..!

Yeah, the whole Foreigner thing kinda baffles me. I know Jason B. is their drummer (which also baffles me), but they're REALLY awful. DREADFUL, I'd even say. If it wasn't for a good cause, I'd think they'd get boo'd!! Is Foreigner bigger in Europe than in the US? Have they put out any music in the last twenty years? I remember when I was a kid, my brother and I would race to the radio to turn it OFF every time 'Urgent' or 'Juke Box Hero' came on. Same thing with Journey. Dreadful stuff.

Anyway, Ronnie would be great, either as an MC or a guest w/ BillW!

Well, Foreigner sold a lot of records for Atlantic in the '70s and '80s, so that's probably why they're on the bill. They're not too bad in my opinion. They have a lot of sappy ballads I don't like, but they've got some pretty good rockers - Urgent and Juke Box Hero aren't necessarily my favorites but they're a cut above average. I always thought of Foreigner as a watered down version of Bad Company, and I like Bad Company (the original band, anyway) quite a bit. Foreigner is miles better than awful bands like Journey and Styx, that's for sure.

Yes, and Foreigner were one of the bands that Ahmet Ertegun fostered at Atlantic. They are one of the bands that frequently get held up as proof of his ability to find and develop hit bands through many different eras and styles of music. Plus the Jason Bonham connection.

Foreigner? They might as well call it the Mick Jones Band ... that is unless Lou Gramm shows up.

i feel the same way - foreigner had some good songs- cold as ice and hot blooded were pretty good. JBH did suck. urgent is ok. but journey and styx had their moments for me too. maybe because i was in junior high at the time. but i loved some girls and emotional rescue so i had good taste as a pre-teen...

Foreigner ain't Foreigner unless Lou is in the band.

Ronnie will turn up at anything these days.[especially if they might buy his pictures or his book]

He's turned into a right tart ;^)
