Hey, LA; love Kravitz.. But please reconsider usin'
"Lenny K" next time, will ya :O) .. I really thought this thread was about
"Patti Smith's" Lenny Kaye. Anyway... Great tune!

I saw Lenny when he first started out and was opening for Tom Petty. I liked how he adapted the Beatles Song "Eight Days a Weeek" into "Let Love Rule" (play the opening the Eight Days and play it in sink with Lenny's Let Love Rule chorus). Mostly every ripoff he's done since then hasn't worked for me. Plus he's one of the worst vocalists of our time.

Ripping off? Yes, but he´s definitively not one of the worst vocalists of our time.

Always on the Run
Mr. Cab Driver

And no way does he have a terrible voice! Very souful and he can scream with the best of the vocalists...

But I do think his material is very erratic and his latest stuff has been too derivitive and cliched.

Dig In is a total T. Rex ripoff. That said, it's brilliant and his best song. He sounded gawdahwful on God Gimme Evvyting.

I know, he rips off but he does it well. Lennons sound (the Primal Scream album), Hendrix (sometimes) guitars, a little Stones, T-Rex etc but they are still LK:s songs. About Let love rule, I aint sure about Eight days a week, it's a pretty common and natural chord progression and harmony.

I loved his first record, Mr. Cab Driver was awesome.
My favourite LK song is Mama Said.

Never understood the draw to him.
Poseur, thief, untalented.
Other than that, he seems like a nice human being.

I saw LK a few times in the late 80's and/or early 90's. I think each show was the same. I remember him opening for Bowie at a stadium tour. I think Kravitz did only one song, but every 3 to 5 minutes he took a break and then started again, this went on about 10 times......Oh, wait a minute, you mean to tell me those were all different songs?.....Boy, sure could of fooled me!

dixiecup - do you love me, or Lenny's drummer. It'll be more fun for me if you say me.

"Fly Away" is my fondest memory of a Kravitz radio single

I tend to confuse his voice with that of Ben Harper.

whitem8, I would say those are my favorites as well, but I would throw in "Sitting on top of the world", even though he cracks is voice at the very beginning.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.
