I was on my way to Pontiac to see the GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD {still true today} for the second time...Iggy Pop, Santana...and then The Stones.....what a show.....Great Memories.....Loved that tour
rlngstns, Thank you for making me feeling old :-0 Loved that tour as well!!! (OK, Pontiac was a bit too much, I had a Mazda 323 at that time... oh well)
26 years ago I was driving a 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (land barge) to my second Stones gig. That car had a 455 "rocket" motor that would spin the tires even from a rolling start with a carload of people!
we rode in the back of a 64 ford van with the bugeye headlights to the dec 1st show. my first show ever. we jumped the wall to get on the floor. ten days later we were in the back of a 64 chevy van on our way to my second show in lexington,ky on dec 11th.

oh yeah, I remember those cars. I borrowed my friend's in high school (in the 70's) and it would jump out from under you.....I wouldn't be surprised if birds and decent sized rodents got sucked into the carbeurator
