Marie was unleashed on the public shortly after that, open-g - having a big hit with the excruciating 'Paper Roses' (or 'Paper Woses' according to the way she sang it) before doubling up with her brother Donny for a few hits (which basically consisted of a duet of their teeth) and a TV series which ran for a few years until the genius who came up with the idea was humanely put to sleep.

I've wondered at times what Donnie and Marie would sound like if they were given decent material and performed in a non cutesy/goofy manner. There's bound to be some real talent lurking in there somewhere.

I saw Donnie a couple of years back here in Chicago doing the lead in"Joseph and the Amazing Coat" musical. I was impressed.
i guess i should've posted it in the "what are you listening to at this very second" thread.
marie is looking good these days but i think she's had some plastic surgery. i imagine she balked at the idea of posing nude - the family is very religious - mormon. she has something like 8 kids.
btw, the dancing with the stars coverage has revived their careers - she and donny will be pairing up for a reunion, just like everyone else.

aw, marie's got killer legs, even after having, what is it, like 45 children? she even faints with delicacy...all that coke in the green room i guess...
"a duet of their teeth"!!???? Gazza you've outdone yourself once again...heh heh, that's great.
but you're obviously ignoring the great 'i'm a little bit country; i'm a little bit rock and roll' segments...i have faith in Marie; she was the debby boone of her time and gets no respect dammit. i'm pretty sure she was the inspiration for 'she was hot,' tho it's not widely discussed.

it's always on - twice a week it's on! i know, i need to turn the stero on more and turn off the TV for background. my bfriend and i have such different tastes in music, i'm in the habit of TV for neutrality...
so my computer is slow and i can't watch the video - what do they do with the offensive line?

Looks like Marie goofed up her chances to win with the wind-up routine. It's in the back-ground for me too, LQ! I could not watch that part. I'm sure they must have changed the line. She is very attractive, and usually entertaining as a performer in *this* show, but went way over the top this time.
Gazza, yeah, a duet of their teeth, yer killing me!
I imagine they only chew sugarless gum to keep those choppers in shape.

I think I read she has about 3 kids, but adopted about five more.
I just happened to turn on the TV when she was about to come on (honest!!) so I watched that show for the first time ever. It was sort of a good idea but it turned out to be a bit lame - it seemed to be a way of compensating or trying to cover up for lack of dancing ability. She wasn't too pleased with the reaction of the judges! The next couple, whoever they were, were better by at least a zillion times. Also she was on Larry King with Donny the other night - but I flipped past it. I was never big on the Osmonds...
oh u spoiler...heh heh...Charlie Brown Christmas is still on in the Pacific time zone; man i love the music they use on these Charlie Brown specials...so cool...no wonder Snoopy has to give it up and just dance sometimes... Snoopy's a better dancer than Marie, but Marie still has the edge when it comes to teeth. guess i can skip dancing with the 'once they used to be almost stars' i've been frankly scared to death of that show since they had Heather Mills on it...whoooooooooo, nightmarish chick...

Of course it's not D&M but Marie and Dan Seals did a number called "Meet Me In Montana" and it is top notch. Lots of country out there! Enjoy.
