Been over in Spain for a couple of weeks and rainbow is on the tv in an advert for colour tv's.Also was on La Sexta tv channel on the footy show at weekends.Anyone seen it ???

It's on in Denmark as well - LCD from Sony or something? With a lot of colored clay rabbits running all over the place - "she comes in colors" ;-)

Just saw for the first time in between two Simpsons episodes

i saw it - well anyway heard it - last week here in Poland.
came running from another room when it came on, and smiled.

Thats the advert.All those coloured rabbits running around !! Must be showing in quite a few countrys in europe and maybe other parts of the world.Nice to hear the song again !

And now the Sony Bravia ad is on Scandinavian TV, too. Rabbits everywhere - and that wonderfull, lovely little song! Makes me happy, for once, to see a TV commercial.

As far as I remember She's A Rainbow was already used in a commercial a couple of years ago (7? 8? maybe more?). Does anyone remember what commercial was it. And when? I think it was something about cellphones, but I'm not sure...

Thanks! That was the commercial I was thinking of. I don't know why I thought it was about cellphones.

Fun commercial, but the cuts they made in SAR sound weird to my ears because I'm used to the original.

At least the song is not being used to push junk TV's.The Sony XBR4 and XBR5 series are about the best LCD TV's available today.They are not quite as good as the Pioneer Elite PRO-110FD plasma but,they are right up there.PAL tv's could have different model #'s.

There's another advert with Paint it Black by Deutsche Telekom.

I think it is great. A great song and some great colors in the video. Who cares about the brand name. It is just somebody who paid to get the song played on TV...

PS. The video could be a lot worse actually. It could be for Viagra or hearing aids, or for non-alcoholic beer.

THE SAME IN FRANCE !

It's been on TV advert in the UK for the last 3/4 weeks.
That catchy tune that most people hum to but havent a clue that it is sung by the 'Stones'
Still sounds as fresh and enjoyable today as when i first heard it in 1967.

Those breathtaking orchestral / strings arrangements on "She's a Rainbow"! By John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. Fantastic. Just love the song. It's totally OK hearing it in a TV commercial. Not annoying at all. But most commercials are, though.

You seem way too defensive.I don't think that anyone had any complaints about what the song was being used to advertise & I think that it is better to be associated with quality products (which,as I said,the Sony TVs are) than it would have been to have your music convincing people to buy bad products like an RCA TV for example,that will break down after two years,or some of the things that you mentioned.

It's only money you know. Who are we to decide what product or adverstisement is good or bad? I mean what do we know about the companies who do these things, their ethics, if their manager is beating up his wife or kids, if they do tax frauds, use children to make their products and so on? It's the real world and at this stage I am sure what looks good is bad and vice versa. Nobody is perfect. I am just happy they play the song and I can hear it every now and then. The option is some music I don't like. The products they advertise I don't care about anyway.

seriosly. I will never understand the popularity of non-alcholic beer.

When MS used 'Start Me Up', it was a huge deal and quite expensive too. Anyone know the pricetag for this one? Why aren't we seeing more Stones tunes in commercials? (I was very surprised when I heard SAR the other day!) Are their early works cheaper?

It's so expensive that some companies have hired other bands (cover bands who specialize in Stones - like Wazoo in your country - Norway...) to write and play music inspired by and "soundling like" the Stones.
Norwegian kitchen manufacturer Sivesind did this shamelessly. They even showed a copy of "December's Children" in one of the kitchen shelves, while the cover band played somthing that COULD have been written / played by someone who's heavily inspired by the Stones, but only charge one per cent for the performance.
