A few years ago, i would have given this title to keef - without a shadow of a doubt..
but now i reckon Ronnie tops the bill...he seems ontop of his world - happy and still making public appearances (at least seems to do more than the others)..

keefs reasonably quiet at moment, i hope he's getting the rest he needs and gettin his head together - i suspect he's gonna make a comeback in his critics eyes next year & 09..and be coolest stone again.

BTW..

Would luv to see Jagger on top gear as the "star in a reasonably priced car"...."Jeremy, where's my satalite dish for the cricket?"...

Charlie gets cooler by the minute... by default.
The thing with Keith & Ronnie is that for some folks [not me ;^)] their behaviour and appearance is a little "uncool" for 60 year old men.
Mick's different because for many years he's presented a very "straight" side of himself that's very different from his stage persona.
Keith & Ronnie obviously have those sides too...but they've only recently started to become comfortable revealing them.
Charlie's just Charlie...a very classy guy from just about anybody's stylistic viewpoint I'd have thought !

keith richards is the definition of cool. even ronnie would tell you that. charlie watts defines class to me. mick jagger is just plain larger than life and a unique and utterly talented artistic soul but if your asking whos the coolest its the guy that laughingly says.."good to be here-good to be anywhere"

It always was Charlie. The others have defined cool at various times in their careers, but Charlie embodies it by being himself. The guy who never seemed to fit a rock band, let alone THE rock band was naturally the best choice for the job and without him, they wouldn't be the greatest there ever was.

i love those early interviews. charlie just stands there and stares at the interviewer, many times saying nothing, even to a direct question; sometimes parsing, muttering a few syllables and laughing...charlie was born cool.

Funny that, my impression is that Mick Jagger - except for a few years around 1967 - actually always dressed very conservatively. Always a lot of "straight" shirts, old fashioned trousers (and I don't mean like Charlie's style at all - he IS just a classic!) and a "sensible jumper" to go with it.

The above goes for his personal style offstage - but maybe his need for flamboyant clothes were covered onstage ;-)

Thats what I like about the stones theyre all cool in their own way,including Stu in his own way he is also very cool! and he was always around, a real stone! (and the first one) I also like those storys about the Stones, with all those guys like Spanish Tony, Robert Fraser etc, and ofcourse Gram parsons.
I think their coolest picture is from 76 with billy preston, all very dressed up, with Bill wyman all in leather, I used to have a book with that picture,
Keith with big sunglases as remember,
I would like to see that picture again, is there anybody who has it and can post it?? maybe Rockman?? :-)
