The Muddy Waters performances recorded by Bill Graham
...Fillmore Auditorium San Francisco - November 4-5-6 1966.....

Muddy's HOT.. sticks to his classics and plays not a thing from his
BRASS & THE BLUES album released only weeks before......Otis Spann
is missing because of health problems but harp-man George Smith along with
guitarists Luther Johnson & Sammy Lawhorn work/weave all the way to cover his absence...........

Stunning band - Amazing sound ..........and that cut-throat slide Of Mr Muddy Waters.....Essential...

nice interview - thanks for posting. as much as he gets slagged, i've always thought bill was the coolest of the stones....

...the stones are certainly the worse for losing him....

Actually, that's my thoughts, as well.
Always been more interested in reading about Bill's memories/opinions than the others....he notices a lot which the others miss.
Maybe it's because he's so cool that he gets at the slagging at IORR..... for instance; he doesn't mind wearing a washed out old sporting jacket while playing a concert - like he did in when playing with the Rythm Kings here, a few years ago....some people seem to focus on such irrelevant things, for some reason

No Stones connection but worthy of high praise ...

In short Lucia Sutera inherits Brooklyn apartment and finds in
the basement, metal masters of Woody Guthrie recordings cut in New York 1944.

4CD set...54 tracks taken from 250 recordings ...6 unreleased tracks
All in truely amazing sound quality...65 page booklet covering story of discovery
....track by track comments ......Rare shots and all packed in a suitcase style box.

The Carter Family style is evident on a number of the tracks
but even more staggering is the influence Guthrie will cast onta Dylan in everything
from Talkin' blues tunes....protest songs... right on through to even his brush strokes on canvas.....

Control
“I first saw Ike and Tina Turner in 1964 in Baltimore. They looked very much like this and I loved them like this. Of course, he was a terrible husband. He beat her and she was right to get away. She lives in Switzerland now, she’s Jackie Kennedy, but when she was with him, she sang so great. And she wore those Spring-o-Lator shoes that Divine and I copied.” .......... John Waters
