I've seen their boring performance in Munich, last weekend. Better they stop touring and rentire! I have really felt that they do it only for the money, the Stones do it also for the money BUT Mick & Co. have fun on stage and give their energy back to the audience.

Fiction Plane (support-act), the band which features Sting's son Joe Sumner on vocals & bass was really great. They performed in the way, in which I wanted to see The Police.

In Lisbon they put on a good show:
they are very good musicians but they exagerated the jammings ins most of the songs and they have some lack of energy on stage.

They are quite cold when comunicating with the audience (shy???)

Even knowing that they are very good technically there is nothing like a Stones show.

But my rate is: 7/10.

The sound, in FOS area was excelent.

Barcelona Olimpic Stadium yesterday night.

I agree with Doc, this is an Arena show. People on the back can hardly see or hear anything.

Sting looks god but he doesn-t move, he is just so sticked to his instrument. No dancing, no running, no waving, no talking ...

Drummer was overacting too much. At the end he looked tired.

Summers wasn-t looking to good but was feeling really well.

113 € was too much.

I was at the first of the 2 shows at the Stade de France last night. I guess the audience got what they expected. A sort of Best Of. Solid musicians. Was it a rock show ? Doubt it. Personnaly find it most of the time boring.

I second that LOL!
I'm amazed Copeland and Summers never shot Stink, I mean Sting after all these years...whatta putz. I like alot of their music but Stinks' political and tree hugging crap I don't need. Similar to Bono/U2...I can enjoy their music but when Bono interrupts a song to rant about starving pygmies leftover from 3 wars ago in the Amazon, I just wanna give him a wedgie.

I'll probably see them anyway when they play Hawaii...get a bargain ticket on ebay as touts/scalpers will overestimate the demand here and fans should be able to score good discounted seats the week of the show. Because if they do indeed play here as rumored, it will be in the stadium, not the arena or small venue.

hy everybody...

i like the music from police. my first record was synchronicity.
last week i saw police in munich at olympicstadium. on good thing,
the weather for autum was realy good. the concert was o.k. if you
don´t saw police before and you like there music.

i know people they was on the concert, because they want to hear
the old songs as roxane, massege in the bottle and so on. for they
was the concert a little boring.

for me, it was o.k. but i read here, for a three man group was
a stadium tour to big. that´s right i think. the stage and lihgtshow
was o.k. but a hall-tour was better for police i think.

now...i go to octoberfest ;-) bye bye

(sorry about my english)

Instead of starting a new and redundant topic, I used the handy "search" function on this site for my post. You're welcome bv! smiling smiley
Now, on with the post!!

It's been rumored for a long while The Police would play in Hawaii, and later the venue was to be at Aloha (Football) Stadium. I saw the Stones there in 1998 and U2/Pearl Jam there last year. Like any large stadium, if you're close to the action, it's good...if not so close, then not so good...

I'm not a huge Police fan but they are ok and I've never seen them and when they announced they might play the stadium, my interest went from moderate to very slight. I figured I might try to get discounted tickets near the stage right before the show as the tout prices come way down for overpriced acts in oversized venues as I have noticed.

However, comma, it was announced yesterday The Police will instead play at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu on Saturday night Feb 16 2008.
Blaisdell is about one third the size of the O2 and appx 1/2 the size of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas. The Stones have played the Blaisdell 6 times between the 66 and 73 tour (I can picture Gazza researching it now and will correct me...lol). With any luck, the Stones will play the Blaisdell again and not book the stadium as they didn't sell enough tickets a year ago and had to cancel the show.

Anywho...now I'm interested in catching The Police in a small arena on a weekend!
I'll try for loge seats perched just in front of the stage...my favorite location at that venue.

Re: Has anyone seen the Police live on this tour???

Well, the Police tickets for their Saturday night Feb 16th 2008 show at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu went on sale today.

I'm not a huge Police fan by any means and when the original rumour was they were to play the big stadum here, my interest was quite minimal.

Once they announced they are playing their smallest venue (7,500 seats) during this tour, sans their surprise gig, I became more interested.

I scored 2 Front Row (Row A) Loge Seats in section 15 (Yellow) as depicted on the seating chart:

To me, these are the best seats in the house! I always sit in the loge as you're perched right over the stage, completely unobstructed view, absolutely fantastic. So, I'll be a mere 25 ft from Stink, lucky me! smiling smiley

The show completely sold out in one hour, unbelievable.

I expect a second and possibly a third show to be announced otherwise the scalper/tout prices will be sky-high given their popularity and the paltry amount of tickets avaiable

The presale was yesterday and for an extra $100 one could join the Police Fan Club instantly and get tickets before today's public sale.
I perused the available seats and they were all on the direct opposite end of the stage. I truly don't understand the "logic" of paying an extra $100 for seats that aren't as good as what you can get during the public sale and with no $100 surcharge.

Even the last row in the balcony section furtherst away from the stage in the Blaisdell is still a great view, but closer is always a better view of course.

I'm still hoping the Stones play Honolulu again and that they play the Blaisdell as they had many years ago. It's as close to a theater show atmosphere as you could ever get for an arena.

So, I'm happy...great seats in a small arena on a Saturday night!
smiling smiley
