Keith looks like an indian.
Put on him the same clothes and he looks like Phil Taylor on the famous Aces of Spades sleeve (the beard less !)

Thanks, y'all...I'm a bit reversed myself today so I didn't notice...though something did seem a bit 'off'. Thanks to everybody for the great picture(s).

Isn't that a much tougher and Stones-like image of the band than what ended up on the cover?

i don't see it as tougher/more Stoned than the one they used.
they're both great photos, but the coldness of the one they used
is (to me) more striking and disturbing

Thats exactly the picture I was talking about on page 1 of this thread.... the expression in Keith's eyes is chilling...

and you wouldnt call Charlie "my drummer", either with a look like that.

.....no I definitely wouldn't call Charlie "my drummer" with a look like that

...a look like that demands a 'Sir' or 'My Lord'...at the very least...

I don't know, just looks to me like Lukester sold them some of his A1 Home Grown North Carolina "Brain Twister Jumbo Vine" and the boys don't know what hit them..... lot of eye drops going around...(Good Outtake though - could have been the cover)

(BTW, Turd/SNC, you boys check out that 21 megapixel Canon? Kicks ass, eh.... sorry SNC, thought you were a Canon man for some reason. Nikon, Canon...both are tops so tain't no big thang.......)

Yes I did reverse the photo. Wanted to check if With Sssoul was paying attention.
Thanks for finding the credits. So it was Hiro..

I don't know, keith looks good 'n' wasted in both shots, and the angle on him in the cover pic is more jarring in an effective way. he looks like he's somewhere else... which is probably how he was feeling. bill looks better in the original, charlie maybe a little better in the alternate, ron looks equally blank in both, not really a good representation of his personality either way. the only one definitely better in the alternate to me is mick. he looks more decadent in an overall way there, whereas on the original he just looks bent on screwing your daughter.

*******

i didn't have the album handy....and googling "Stones BLack & Blue photographer"
wasn't very productive...so I looked in the ROLLING STONES book by
Robert Palmer.....the Black & Blue album photo is used for the book cover.
it credits Hiro.

IORR............but I like it!

smile: i read that look a little differently, but anyway!
i think Ronnie looks fine & spirited in the one they went with -
in the alternate he looks like he's about to weep.

thank you for keeping me on my toes, Erik :E
