A blind man wanders into an all girls biker bar by mistake. He finds
his way to a bar stool and orders some coffee. After sitting there for
awhile, he yells to the waiter, "Hey, You Wanna hear a blonde joke?"

The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.

In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, "Before you
tell that joke, Sir, I think it is only fair -- given that you are
blind -- that you should know five things:

1. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
2. The bouncer is a blonde girl.
3. I'm a 6 foot tall, 175 lb. Blonde woman with a black belt in Karate.
4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weightlifter.
5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.

Now, think about it seriously, Mister. Do you still wanna tell that joke?"

The blind man thinks for a second, shakes his head, and mutters,
"No... Not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times.

Two Redneck hunters from Mississippi got a pilot to fly them to Canada
to hunt moose. They bagged six. As they started loading the plane for
the return trip home, the pilot tells them the plane can take only
four moose.

The two good old boys object strongly. "Last year we shot six and the
pilot let us put them all on board; he had the same plane as yours."

Reluctantly, the pilot gave in and all six were loaded. Unfortunately,
even on full power the little plane couldn't handle the load and went
down a few moments after take-off.

Climbing out of the wreck Bubba asked Earl, "Any idea where we are?"

"Yaaah, I think we's pretty close to where we crashed last year."

This seems to be the same debate, that has gone on around here since I have been on here for the last year. Same complaints, same suggestions on how to change it. Same response from bv. Deja Vu all over again.

For Lukester:

A girl child tells her mom, "I walked by and your door was cracked and Daddy had his thing in your thing."

Mom says, "That's where babies come from."

Next week daughter tells Mom, "I walked by and Daddy had his thing in your mouth."

Mom says, "That's where jewelry comes from!"

How about this:

One forum to discuss all things Stones.
A second forum to discuss all non-Rolling Stones music and entertainment.
A third forum to discuss personal shit and anything not entertainment-related.

It has been suggested many times and the answer was always no. Bjornulf wants this to be a forum where information about the Stones is exchanged, I don't think he's particularly interested in the development of a community. I second your wish for such a off topic forum, btw.

hmmmm, i think exactly the opposite - i think that this is already a great stones "community", and exactly because the structure of the forum is currently very good - it's orderly and uncluttered and easy to use, but just loose enough to encourage various more "wild" (and perhaps OT) discussions - i would say that if you don't find a title interesting, just don't open the thread. (If you think about it, even the Britney Spears thread is Stones-related, if only because of her stupid cover of Satisfaction ;-)

personally i don't think this forum needs to be changed - at least from the blabbing point of view - if it's a problem about the server performance or traffic etc, that's another issue - but i really like the structure of the forum the way it is now. also, i have a feeling that if bv had to change the forum structure all around, it would be a lot of work, and it wouldn't necessarily make the site better than it is now. Hey, this is a great site, if it ain't broke don't fix it :-) IMHO :-)

an idea
I am about to make some UP's to all real threads to make disappear the OFF TOPICS of the 1st page
Let somebody do the dirty work

I think the OT topics are for the best part, really interesting and are generally music related. We all love the Stones but out of season it's not such a bad thing to discuss other topics while we ready ourselves for the next tour. We hope!!!!!!!!!!

1) BV is the boardbaas, he has the final say.
2) BV is trying to be diplomatic.
3) BV works very hard to maintain this board.
4) BV deserves respect.

You may post as many off-topic posts as you like, but then you have to be aware of the following facts - remember facts, not rumours:

1. I might delete your thread
2. If that happens often I might close out your user

There will never be an off-topic board on iorr. With the given structure I want to have it basically around the Stones, not 70% about Britney Spears and Garth Brooks. I understand and approve the discussions on off-topic topics, and as long as they don't take off totally that is no problem. But when there are mofre than 50% non-Stones and not even Stones-related or music-related at all, then it is time to think Stones before you post, or simply take a break.

By the way, I was in London today. Very off topic, but still a bit on-topic as the Stones were born in London. And having a pint in London is always great, on or off topic...

I started that thread as a semi-joke. She did record "Satisfaction", so I guess it's as on topic as "Favorite Stones Covers", etc.

If ya don't like it, don't look. I try to abide by bv's policies (yes, I've been banned before) and most of my posts are Stones-related.

If ya can't take a joke, .......

LOL Bjornulf. I still think you are right. This is your board and you make the rules. If anyone doesn't like your rules, he/she can move to another board. No need to discuss the rules. Take it or leave it. Very simple.

Thanks for the guidelines bv. I espicially like your last line. Maybe on OT threads we should try 6 degrees of The Rolling Stones. Tie everything back to the Stones. For instance,if I was to post on the Football thread. Man,the 49ers sure won ugly Mon. night. Speaking of,Winning Ugly I think it's a great stones song...See how easy that is? smiling smiley

When Britney was asked why she decided to do a version of "I Love Rock and Roll" her response was "Because I LOVE Pat Benatar!" I thought that was beyond lame.

Actually, though, I have always thought that "I Love Rock and Roll" would have made a great Stones track.

LOL no. Actually I was the opposite of that. But I became a teacher who gets apples given to by the kids :-)
But, bud, butt ... I still think Bjornulf is right.
