New ROLLING STONE mag just came in the post today. Here are the biggest releases for the next few months:

PEARL JAM - "Live at the Gorge 05/06" - 7 CD Live Box Set (on Monkeywrench) Should be out now on Amazon/in Stores

FOO FIGHTERS - "Echos, Silence, Patience, and Grace" - Out 25th of Sept. Suppose to be a "wide Spectrum" album, much more variety than past FF's albums....

BRUCE SPPRINGSTEEN (and the E Street Band) - "Magic" - Out 2nd of Oct. Bruce and Band are back to rockin'

JOHN FOGERTY - "Revival" - Out 2nd of Oct. Suppose to sound very much like the old CCR with Kenny Aronoff on Drums. Highlights include a new song called "I Can't Take It No More"(about a certain World Leader) that's described basically as a follow up to the great CCR song "Fortunate Son"

NEIL YOUNG - "Chrome Dreams II" - Out 16th of Oct. Follow up to 1977 canceled-at-the-last-minute "Chrome Dreams" 8 new songs out of 10

ROBERT PLANT and ALISON KRAUSS - "Raising Sand" Out 23rd of OCT. The Zep Man dives deep into country and blues. Songs include "Trampled Rose" (Tom Waits) and "Please Read the Letter" (Page/Plant)

LED ZEPPELIN - "The Song Remains the Same" - Out on 20th of Nov. Cleaned - up sound with extra bonus songs left off the original release - BLACK DOG/OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY/MISTY MOUNTAIN HOP/SINCE I'VE BEEN LOVING YOU/HEARTBREAKER/THE OCEAN. Believe the DVD of the film is also being worked on....Out the same day..

EAGLES - "Long Road Out of Eden" - Out on 30th of Oct. with a catch. Shame on Henley and the boys, this disc will ONLY be sold at Wal Mart (looks like I ain't getting it - not interested anymore)

OTHER RELEASES (Quick Run Through):

MICK JAGGER - "Very Best of Mick Jagger" - 2nd of OCT. not sure about the DVD included version

EDDIE VEDDER - "Into The Wild" (Songs from the Motion Picture) - 18th of Sept.

R.E.M. - "Live" - 16th of OCT. Still a good band, look for DVD special edition

MARK KNOPFLER - "Kill to Get Crimson" - 18th of Sept.

JONI MITCHELL - "Shine" - 25th of Sept

ANNIE LENNOX - "Songs of Mass Destruction" - 2nd of Oct.

COLLECTIVE SOUL - they have a new one out which only one chain is selling - Target Stores - not the best move IMHO. Check their web site...

THE POLICE - have something coming out on 30th of October. No title yet but probably a live one from this tour....

On the DVD front "U2 - POPMART LIVE IN MEXICO CITY" is due out 18th of Sept. There's also a double DVD special edition coming out the same day.

THAT'S IT FOR NOW, WHICH ONES YOU GONNA GET (AND, WHAT DID I LEAVE OUT?)....

I thought U2 - Popmart Mexico City was out already on DVD?

I remember seeing that tour early on and it was not that good overall, by the time they got to Mexico it was a 100% turnaround.

Anyone know if The Who DVD is "Live at Leeds 2006" ?

Paul Stanley is due out sometime soon and so is a live David Gilmour from last summer.

Pearl Jam is releasing a live DVD from their shows in Italy last year called Immagine in Cornice: Live in Italy 2006 on September 25th.

PJ Harvey releases White Chalk on October 2nd, pushed back from September 25th apparently.

Ann Wilson of Heart releases her first solo album called Hope & Glory on September 11th.

The Springsteen album will be released first on LP on Septmeber 25th, 1 week before the CD release.

Paul McCartney will have a 3 DVD ste consiting of most of his promo videos and highlights from performances including Unplugged. It's out in early November.

I'll be picking up a number of the releases mentioned including the Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, REM, Eagles, PJ Harvey, Police, Fogerty, Plant/Krauss, Jagger, 3 cd version of Pink Floyd's The Piper At The Gates Of dawn, due on on Sept 11th in the US and the McCartney DVD. Some of the others I'll consider based on if I like what I hear from them. I'll likely grab at least a couple of the other DVDs as well.

I, personally, am excited about the Jagger comp., the Springsteen album, the Led Zeppelin reissues, AND the U2 dvd. I loved the PopMart show in '97, thought it was brilliant, sarcastic, risky... Been waiting for the dvd release for some time now (it was supposed to be out in June, but was postponed). All this stuff will be really fun to hear/see... it is shaping up to be an exciting fall, I think!

Madonna has a new album coming out this fall/winter. I think Warner Bros. says there is a yet to be titled album coming out in Oct. as well as a new greatest hits of remixes.

Also, no the U2 Popmart hasn't been released yet; only the VHS.ZooTV is on DVD though, as of last fall.
