This is something I just don't understand.
Why does nearly everybody hate that song ?
It's a perfect funk song, for me one of the very few highlights of the Euro 2007 tour. I think the song is perfect for the Stones, the version is simply great.
And it's got some killer horn licks.
"You gotta live for yourself, yourself and nobody else !"
That's the performance that makes me love a Stones gig, unusual stuff, perfomed with passion, not

One of the better covers they have done IMO. Weak covers were Can't get next to you, Twenty Flight Rock also Love Train and Mr Pitiful weren't really exciting.

i'll say this: sounds like a good choice of a song GIVEN the current state of the band. you notice how they haven't even bothered with a new cover that demands any serious amount of guitar presence the past few tours? they're no dummies....

I'd rather not have any covers. It would have been nice to hear 3 or 4 ABB songs for each concert on the ABB Tour.

The covers can be fun, but if I only get to hear 19 or 20 songs, I would prefer them all to be by Jagger/Richards.

Then again, a club show dong nothing but old Chuck Berry/Johnnie Johnson/Muddy Waters stuff would be nice. (Yes, I know it'll ever happen)

Personally, I feel that a kick-ass opener (and cover) would be Gimme Some Lovin' by the Spencer Davis Group. I feel they could knock that one out of the park.

no no no, it's not the STONES that at are the dummies: it's the "fans" for lapping this crapola up . . .

Did you ever hear the Blues Magoos do I'll go crazy? First album I ever bought, 12 or so at the time. I loved it!! That James Brown part at the end of each chorus. I'd have gotten a kick out of it.

I loved I Go Crazy and I loved Love Train on Four Flicks. Still the best cover band in the world.
Best cover ever? Around and Around Worst cover ever? Never cared for Crackin' Up

By the way totally agree with all those who point out lack of ABB songs on the latter part of ABB tour...a disgrace.

After the Tuesday O2 show I decided to use the IGC slot on Thursday and Sunday as the best time to go get another beer .

I like it! Seen it 3 times live and it's been good every time. It's not their worst cover ever. One of the better actually.

See the positive side: I'll Go Crazy was the perfect restroom-pause, I noticed that at O2 considering the crowd there.

i don't like it; it means it's vegas time; i don't like lisa's caterwauling either. and the boyz should hot be covering james brown as there is zero funk in the band.
the who did two really cool jb covers on their first album 'the who sing my generation'
they did 'please please please,' and 'i don't mind.' they pulled it off...
either one of those would have been a better choice for a jb tribute...
...tough rough and ready. the lisa version is kinda like lame holiday inn liza show stoppaah fluff to me...and again, zero funk, zero. gits are not sharp or cutting or funky; you got charles, and you got some screaming banshee chick...and the boys get a long break in the middle of the show.

<and the boyz should hot be covering james brown as there is zero funk in the band.>

What do you mean? This is not a JB funk tune. He had more eras (as the stones have had). This tune is pure blues, and they're doing it good IMO.

For me I'll go crazy wasn't that great either. In general the covers on the licks tour were better.

I can't understand why they dropped That's how strong my love is. This is a great song with much guitar work and the horns of course.

Many, in the arena, did the same

let's just say we all share in the honor. they know full well that they could seriously embarrass themselves if they chose "poorly."

i think Crazy was a tribute to the wonderful sound of 60s - r'n'b and James Brown, not the worst one they plyad live, I think that Harlem Shuffle was the worst in those playd live usually, think even of the version of Hound Dog - from memphis 1978, the king was dead a year before, even that was a tribute.
I mean the vocals were not at heir best ..., anyway Get up Stand was great ?
Anyway the stones playd great songs and lil bit of crap, usually the most of the bands play lot of crap and lil bit of good stuff, that's the difference and why we still love 'em, not the best, almost...
Bye people.

"I'll Go Crazy" is a great crowd song, and I thought it was fabulous on that basis at the Stade de France.

um, excuse me, but what does the crowds' reaction have to do with the quality of the song? i was at the stade de france, too: and you're right, much to my chagrin, it brought the house down. (especially lisa's kidney stone passing, which i NEVER get)

the crowd at the stade was right about one thing, however: Starsailor sucked.

there are many things I can tolerate, but I will not let someone say anything bad about Hound Dog From 78 and stay quiet. This is one of their best covers. A modernized version of the song. Micks Vocal delivery and the band's playing of it are a brilliant interpriation of the song. When I go home Im going to listen to it ten times in a row.

I'll Go Crazy was a brilliant choice for 2007. Much better than Nite Time IMHO.
