No attack just how do you know these seats were not sold??.

Someone is taking up the space is immaterial if space is sold.

So it's all down to the scalpers?
Don't you think the prices for the tickets has something to do with it?

High prices+poor ticket selling strategy= thousands of empties. The funny thing is, they probably could have sold more seats the day tix went onsale had they made the unsold seats available during the onsale. Stones ticket mngmnt holds these tickets too long, and then drops them into the ticket pool with little or no time to sell them.

They must have sold enough of the first two shows other wise why bother with a third show.
Must admit I changed my night from the 21st to the 26th when I found out they were doing a third date, got nearer too,had hoped to go to all 3 but shit happens and it was not to be

Yes that's true adotulipson. I don't see the big deal about a few empty seats either. Of course the tickets were too expensive...it's suppky and demand, but it's too late to complain now - I'm just looking forward to the concert

This is based on ticket availability and the fact there was little to NO "walk up crowd" the day of the show!.

If there were more than a few dozen seats dotted about I didn't see them.

I tried to get tickets for tonight wih no success. Why would it be so hard to get tickets if it wasn't sold out. I can understand keeping some back until the last minute until the stage and PA are set up and they know for sure which seats are obscured, but why withhold tickets and say that they are sold out when people are desperately looking for tickets.

I think reports of thousands of spare seats are probably greatly exaggerated. I'll be at Tursday's show so I'll see for my self.

Maybe a few hundred empties. Definitely not thousands.

Just got back!

I was there and it looked half sold out until about 10 minutes before the boys came on then it filled up fast - everyone must have been in the bar!

slybri74, that's not what tomcat2006 said, reaqd all the thread before you make your smart arsed comments. About 98% full was my estimation.

... and according to the same paper a man with two heads were seen walking down Oxford Street today...

Don't believe everything you read. Don't repeat absolute lies. I was there. There were NOT thousands of epty seats. May be behind the stage but they were never on sale...

gosh this is a fan site right? it's an open forum so i'm not offended but i have an observation; it's almost like you relish this with the captial letters screaming CONFIRMED...
who cares anyway? how many seats do they have to sell and worldwide records do they have to break, and zillions of people do they have to play for before someone attempts to shame their legacy; or the apparent excellence with which they rocked the house tonight, gits UP and blazing from the reports we're getting.
variable fractions of attendance minutiae is fun speculation for some i guess...but really, an astronomical number of people have seen them this entire tour; this particular leg...and an astounding number of people will rock with them at the '02...whoever misses out, that's their problem.

There was a section at the centre back upper tier that had quite a few empty seats when they came on. Don't know if they filled up once the lights went down.

Just prior to the Stones coming on I'd say the arena was 90% full. To judge from the number of people coming and going during the show it does seem that quite a large number of people are happy to pay £150 for a night at the bar.

Maybe about 100-150 empties, no more than that.

I'll chime in as well. There one ONE nearly empty section in the upper tier. Don't know what that was for. Other than that, it was close to full. At 8:00 p.m., there were thousands of people sitting in the restaurants and bars in the O2 complex, which initially gave the impression that there were a lot of empty seats. Those seats were full by 9:00 p.m.
