That's rather like saying if it weren't for ticket purchases and albums purchases from a lot of regular people, Mick Jagger wouldn't have very much money.

PETA had income of more than 15 million dollars in the last year I can find on-line, 2003 (info gleaned directly from PETA's IRS Form 990 they are required to file detailing their finances).

$15 million every year in donations is hardly The Sisters of the Poor raising a few bucks to save a few cats and dogs.

is there something evil about being able to somehow raise big cash to help a charity cause ??? ("a FEW cats and dogs???") Good for them, they know how to work the system !!! you need MONEY sweety to do anything in this world. I love the Stones, and i've paid pretty big bucks to see them, and they aren't no charity baby, but that's okay :-) Although when i saw the stones in Boston I paid $400 to the Boston Blind Association for a ticket in front of KEITH, and I would say that was definitely a win-win situation - i helped a bunch of blind people, and i got to be at the rail in front of KEITH.

First you tried to suggest that the vegan extremist/animal rights crowd didn't have any money.

Then when I pointed out they are hugely wealthy, you tried to suggest "good for them, they know how to work the system."

There's plenty wrong if you lie and cheat and distort and you hide your real agenda, as PETA does. There's lots of charities out there that deserve big bucks, PETA ain't one of them, pal.

oh jesus, i'd really rather talk about other things in this moment, because of bla bla bla bla, but what exactly do you suggest is the REAL AGENDA that they are "lying and cheating" about. this is what i don't understand.....
actually 15 million dollars doesn't even seem hugely wealthy to me these days, compared with a lot of other less "worthy" causes .. PETA is one lightning-rod type of association, because they do some pretty ballsy PR stunts, which also i think at times are a little extreme, but there are LOTS of (animal) groups around who DON'T have big bucks at all...they have to do what is called "constant fundraising", and it's actually a lot of work...anyway, i repeat that i don't think they have SOOO much money considering the work that they are involved in, and yeah - GOOD FOR THEM, they work the system baby, why shouldn't they?
