that's the spirit, rooster! we've got an opening in the official rolling stones set-list whiner's club - the dues are relatively inexpensive, but the perks are non-existent. it's exclusively for the spirtual value.

No tour....they play the same old tired songs. Man can not live on bread and water alone.

If they tour again, it will be a similiar pattern, just less gigs and slightly smaller in scale except for the prices. I think we may eventually see a Mick solo tour at some point.

Why should he do a solo tour?
The last time it was nothing compered to a Stones tour.

Ego gratification, to prove to himself and the world that he still has "it" at age 70 or whatever even if some of the other band members can't keep up.

would love to see them get rid of the backing singers (even though I love Lisa Fischer! She could be an opening act for them ), the horns (as much as I love Bobby) and Chuck, and go back to basics--- just Keith, Mick, Charlie and Ronnie with a bass player (not neccessarily Daryl) and play like they used to--- loud, sloppy and full of feel....

I think they will tour again, and it won't be long before it happens

HOWEVER
I would LOVE a solo Jagger area tour in the states before another full blown stones tour.

yeah , bob r , while it doesnt need to be darryl , it really needs to be bill !
and of course , the backing singers must get out of the band , bobby and chuck can stay , they are good
but yes , a normal tour like licks or abb is coming in 2 years or 3 , i dont see why they'd stop , they never said that!

Cant understand why, with the obviously limited time the Stones have at this stage as a performing act, anyone would prefer a 'solo' tour to a 'band ' tour.

Personally, I dont think the Stones as a band have another spell of prolonged touring in them .

I dont want this tour to have any flim-flam. Im also sick and tired of the Ism and Skism. I could do without those too.

as much as Id like to see a tour where they do all thier old stuff and really get back into the blues, I just dont see it happenening, because I really dont think Mick wants to do that. And he won't do something he doesn't want to do.

Yeah really! I don't get it either. Considering their age, the only thing to do at this point is to completely focus on the Stones especially because of the limited amount of time they have ahead. It's too late to branch out...I personally think when the Stones have ended (by decision or death) that is when the band members can feel free to roam about and do what they please.

I can't see Mick touring with Keith in this state ever again to be honest.

Solo tour by Mick, followed by slagging off by KR and a bitter end to their legacy.

Think about it . Very sad,but realistic.

There will probably not be a world tour like the tours we know, maybe there will be a couple of shows, maybe not. It would be great to have a tour of Charlie Watts' wonderful tentett, but this is only a wish.

Unfortunately, my expectations and my wishes for a new tour differ somewhat... What I expect them to do and what I wish them to do are two different things...

Besides, just like Gazza I don't think the Stones as a band have another spell of prolonged touring in them.

Not expecting another Mega tour to take place.

2. small theatre /club gigs

Would fit the bill nicely.

I see TheJuf is online. She mentioned a few weeks ago that its likely Charlie will do some shows with his jazz band in 2008.

I don't think they should do another world tour...some club shows once in a while would be cool though smiling smiley

2008 off
2009/2010: New Album/world tour
2011 off
2012 Farewell tour (50 licks)

Re: What are your expectatives of a new tour?

as i said before, i hope they scale down the level of gigs to take the pressure off themeselves.

take most of 2008 off, come back late 2008 and early 2009 with an album, and do a small tour mainly in britain europe and america in 2009 but with maybe no more than 10 concerts in each part of the tour.

take most of 2010 off and late 2010 plan another album to release in 2011 and then a 50th anniversary tour to start in 2011 and finish somewhere in 2012.

then quit when they are ahead.

and not look back.

then open up the archive and release as much previously unseen and unheard of material as they can.

I don't think we'll get another tour. Keith is on a slippery slope, Jagger's vocal problems worsen with every tour and I think Ronnie is still a loose cannon. Add their ages to this and the O2 = the end.
