i am a stones fan but black crowes donĀ“t enter my cd-player. berry i like, but never listen to. you see, it is not that easy to get the taste of the typical stones-fan, because the stones are what we all agree to. but then it is spreading out in many directions...
Would agree with alexs it's a lot more personal, e.g. think I've got the following in common with a lot of Stones fans -
- Dylan - White Stripes - Lou Reed - Prince - Muddy Waters, etc.
And the following maybe not -
- Arctic Monkeys - REM - Wedding Present - Foo Fighters - Nirvana - Queens of Stoneage - Kings of Leon - The Killers - Stephen Fretwell - Iggy/Stooges - Strokes/Albert Hammond Jr solo - Mark Lanegan/Isobel Campbell - Pixies - etc....

Strokes, Queens of the stone Age and Foo Fighters have played some of the best concerts I've ever attended.
I know many here do not like U2....but it is worth a look on youtube to go find where the Edge Honors the Clash into the R&R Hall of Fame....during his speech ...he calls the Stones the greatest R&R band...
