I was there. Pretty interesting night. Taylor was in town doing a club date with (I think) Alvin Lee - so we had an inkling he might show up for a cameo. Although I haven't heard the boot, my initial impression is that he did not have the classic distortion / edge that was his trademark for leads - but a more clean sound that didn't always cut through. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, and I remember him being out there for at least 6-8 songs, quite a while.

Pretty historic night.

There is a soundboard of this show available, but for Taylor fans it is a disappointment. You have to work pretty hard to determine if and what he's playing. But there is one song that stirs my imagination...Beast of Burden. Taylor has an idea and plays a simple little ditty that is audible, that is playful and gives the song some swing. It is the only example that I know of of what Some Girls could have been. People love that album and think it is a classic. I think it is a fun record with a nice feel, but Taylor could have made it something it isn't, i.e., interesting.

BTW: There is a photograph of this show with Taylor on stage and balloons coming down, so he must of stayed to the end.

Yeah he wasn`t plugged into the PA that night.. just put his amp on 11 and rocked away!! True rock `n` roll!! People in the back probably couldn`t hear it. I want the audience recording too!! Sounds like a blast!!

The soundboard recording sounds a lot better - but I still love the ol' Together At Last boot - one of the first bootlegs I bought, in 92 I think
Don't know what it is about the cover, but there's something special about it...I'd like this cartoon on my tombstone please

It's great to see those pictures. I was there that night. Initially we were saying, "Is that Mick Taylor?!" I hadn't known he was in town, so did not expect that huge surprise. It was the first Stones concert I took my then-boyfriend to. We later got married and our most recent Stones show was Paris 2007.

Technically, it was not in Kansas. It was in Kansas City Missouri at Kemper Arena.
