I think it was about £25 back in 1995 ($50 at todays exchange rates but probably about $35 at the exchange rate at the time).
Bargain - and I was able to persuade my mates to go along too, something I can't do now. No hope to convert the uninitiated when ticket prices are like they are now. Even serious fans have second thoughts!
well it wasn't my first stones show, but the first i can remember the money sitch around... ...i think it was $15. for msg '72, but you had to buy four, IF u won the postcard lottery that even allowed you to buy in... might have been cheaper but i think that's correct...they played a weeks worth of shows there, sold 'em all out... ...and the demand was so huge that you still had to send in dozens of postcards, hoping for a chance to buy in...
i had every friend, and a lot of people i didn't know, offering me outrageous prices for one of the four... but billy don't play that...it DID feel like you won the lottery when you got the notification... the show i saw, was astounding...stevie wonder was incredible too... not an ounce of fat or foolishness the whole night long...whooo, it was grrreat.
it's embarassing i guess, but we were showing each other the goosebumps on our arms at certain really high points in the concert... and there were a LOT Of them... whooooo, it was epiphany city...rock and roll central...the holy grail...and obvious to everyone there, even at the time...
gosh, how'd the manage that without a tv screen and fireworks? and without some sillyass customized stage...? ...hmmm, guess they had to lean into the music, and the crowd. well thank goodness things 'evolved' eh?

Thanks tjkeef for reminding me that my Anaheim tix were only $12.50 as compared to $450 in Las Vegas. How times have changes. Check out the Most Paid thread I started.

Did you taped the shows?
Have to admit at the time the thought never crossed my mind.
$12.50 to see the Stones play the classic "Philadelphia Special" at the Spectrum in 1972--$10 less than it cost me to buy the Great Dane boot recording of the show 20 years later...
I paid 17,- Deutsche Mark in 1973 in Frankfurt for the first show, but I also stayed for the second - so that makes it DM 8,50 or something around € 4,-

Wow,you sound a lot like another bay area guy who used to be on here. Your not related to StonesTod by any chance are you?.............Anyway,I remember the Oakland 78 well. My first ever Stones show. Didn't remember how much tickets where,so thanks for that. I do remember it being Mick's B-day and there being a 2 hr wait in between Santana left and the Stones came on. With circus acts to entertain. Including a highwire act. I remember more about that show than many others I went to as I got older.
"It's just some friends of mine and they're busting down the door"
First for me was $55 for the BTB Tour...escalated quickly after that to $85 for No Security, $400 for 40 Licks (several shows)and $400 for BB (several shows).....become kind of a hobby for my wife and I...actually paid $600 a seat for 2nd row for 40 Licks. But we still love it.
OK, so I came late to the party... Hot summer day, jets and skydivers overhead, a great lineup and a great party. And $25.50 Cdn including Ticketmaster charge. Thanks, Stones!
