Yeah but, this is different, it's a very weird, game playing request....

I wonder what would have happened if I had been granted an interview with her and only stared at her tits!?

She should be thankful that any reporters want to talk to her. She must have one of the highest fame to talent ratios in the history of the music business. She has managed to achieve great fame with very little talent. She sings okay but not as well as say Whitney Houston or Mariah Carrey, she writes very little if any when it comes to her songs and does she even play an instrument?

And all you guys who want to do her should see her up close without the makeup before making the assumption that she is hot. She has to be pushing fifty. People that age can look incredible good with makeup and not so good without. You don't want to end up like Jack Nicholson in The Shining when he walks into the room, starts making love to the hot woman and all of a sudden she turns into an old hag lol.

sexist a-hole. Let's face it, if she were a man who's made some of the same career moves/choices, chances are people like you would be praising her for staying fresh and keeping her audience involved. A strong, successful woman is automatically an arrogant "whore" fit only for banging....

Oh, and Michael "bring'em young" Jackson was a one trick pony (Thriller) and that was 25 years ago! The two careers are not comparable by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm by no means a huge Michael Jackson fan but comparing his talent level to Madonna's is like comparing night and day. Jackson was a tremendously gifted musician who could write songs, play instruments and could sing far far better than Madonna who is imo just a glorified lounge singer.

Was it Mick that said "She's a thimbleful of talent thrown into a sea of ambition"? I think I heard that attributed to him.

I have a question: Who wrote Maddona's songs? She had a lot of hits back in the 80s like LAV and MG.

She works with professional song writers, not sure if it has been the same one over the years or different ones. She probably writes a lot of the lyrics and thus gets some of the songwriting credits but I doubt if she ever gets deeply involved with the music or melody.

Yeah, becasue I think some of the melodys or bass lines in her songs are pretty good, for pop music. Like on Material Girl. I think Musically its actually pretty clever. the lyrics are pretty much crap though.

Let`s face it: that`s absolutely not true, I think you`re rather sexist for suggesting such idiotic theories which hadn`t even crossed my mind. There`s plenty strong and succesful women out there that aren`t arrogant whores.

Yep, one trick pony. Off The Wall: 20 million copies. Bad: 30 million copies. Dangerous: 23 million.

And, as you said, Thriller sold 104 copies.

Madonna`s fantastic True Blue album kind of does it for here at 26 million worldwide.

So I must agree with you indeed, the two careers AREN`T comparable at all.

You're right: one of them has a career, and the other one used to.

Madonna is a great performer. If I wasn't at work, I'd type about 500 reasons why she's as famous, popular and successful as she is today.
Granted, some of her lyrics aren't that in depth, but musically she's just as good as anyone else, and probably better than most. I dont know any, and I mean ANY, artist who has been as consistently successful and release actually good pop songs as she has. She's never really had a "bad album" (i'm sure these might cause many responses from the critics) and she usually has at least a couple of big singles off of each album. Let's face it, probably only U2 has enjoyed the type of career that she has. Not even Paul McCartney has enjoyed that type of success.

Madonna writes her music with usually only one or two cowriters. Some of her hits were written by just her, including Lucky Star. Albums like Confessions on a Dancefloor, Ray of Light, Music, Bedtime Stories, etc all had extremely substantial songwriting from her Madjesty.

Also, do not call her crazy and compare her to Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson was a very talented person with a good heart who went a little crazy and now is a bit "iffy" in many areas of his life. Madonna has always been a good person who honestly uses her fame for good. She has a stable family that she is very active in and that is quite clear. She's a mother, an author, a performer, a songwriter and an activist. Michael is none of those things anymore. Comparing these two at present day is ridiculous.

Basically, She's the best of the best, so just get over. No matter how much you dislike her, there are millions and millions and millions of people who are going to support her, and I'm one of them.

I'm sorry King Snake, but are you going to say the same about the Stones (and Beatles) though? Is Michael Jackson a better artist than Mick and Keith and John and Paul b/c he's sold more albums? Hell no. Just because he happened to be very talented for a short period of time doesnt mean at all that he's better than Madonna (or our boys for that matter). Years from now, Madonna will still be a popular artist and worldwide success. Michael will still be a worldwide star, but for very different reasons.

In my opinon MJ is a much more talented songwriter/singer/performer than Madonna. its not just about sales.

And how about "Sanctify My Love" with Lenny Kravitz?

Can't believe some of the nonsense in this thread. She writes very little of her own material so face the facts. She is not a singer songwriter by any stretch of the imagination. She works mostly on the lyrics which are usually pretty crappy I might add. Go ahead and list all the big hits she wrote by herself and I'll independently verify it.

And to say she hasn't had a bad album is utterly ridiculous. Go check the album reviews. She is a singles artist and with maybe a couple exceptions hasn't made albums that are great from start to finish.

You can certainly say she is as famous as Macca, U2 or The Stones but you can say the same thing about Britney Spears so what does that tell you. She is in no way on the level of The Stones, Macca, or U2 as far as greatness goes and isn't even close.

One of you Madonna yahoos can feel free to list all the hits she wrote without the aid of a professional songwriter.

Everybody
Lucky Star
Gambler
Burning Up
Sidewalk Talk
The Funny Song

these are credited to her alone
every other song is co-written or written by someone else

She only wrote six songs by herself? Hell I could write six songs in twenty five years. Get me a fifty dollar guitar and start writing away. Sure I could come with an interesting song by the year 2010.

To me, both are basically dancers and performers, rather than singers or musicians.
They've both made some very good music videos.

Uh, JJGreg, no offense, if you talk to some people who knew Madonna in the early days, I don't think there's unanimous agreement that she was "always a good person."

I wouldn't turn down a free ticket to either person's concerts, if they
were ready and able to do a concert tour, that is.

No way. Jackson is one of the greatest singers of all time. Go back and listen to his Jackson five stuff and solo stuff all the way up thru the 80's.

Michael Jackson is a f****** twat as well.

Too often people are inclined to mistake a unique appeal for quality. To some extent this applies to the Stones (particularly Jagger), but, unlike Jagger and the Stones, Jackson's appeal is also very slight and quickly forgotten.

As for Madonna, she has no unique appeal and certainly no talent where music is concerned. Is she informed by a rich musical tradition and heritage - no. She is successful merely because our ridiculous celebrity era makes her so. She is interchangeable with Posh Spice or whatever her name is. The 'music' is largely irrelevant. Whatever we may think of their musical output this is not, and never has been, the case with the Stones.

Madonna is HUGE here in the UK. Far moe popular than the Stones amoungst the younger crowd and even up to the 30-something bracket I'd say. I don't like all her music certainly, but a lot of those 80's hits were great. Like A Virgin, Borderline, Crazy For You, Like A Prayer, Papa Don't Preach, Material Girl.... need I go on?

You can't possibly compare Madonna with Jacko.

Madonnas pretty well stayed ahead of the game for years, staying contemporary and fresh compared to Jackson who's collapsed in a strange world of plastic surgery, lifeless records and problems with young children.

No other woman has achieved the world wide success of Madonna. She's now an iconic figure.

And using comments like 'whore' is plain immature and rather sad.....
