It's true, I remember reading about it in one or more newspapers at the time

Regarding Charlie, I think he fell down the stairs when he was going down to his wine cellar during his heroin/speed/booze midlife crisis in the '80s.

I'm pretty sure it was this fall that caused him to clean up. Can anyone corroborate?

don't know about the "midlife crisis" aspect but.....as mentioned in
an earlier post (on this thread) I too remember something about him
falling down stairs.

apparently all the Stones have fallen except for Mick.
(i assume ROnnie has fallen while drunk)
Mick just keeps falling in "love/lust". winking smiley

I think Mick has actually boasted about his never tripped/fallen while on stage, which really is something to boast about considering the way he has gotten around the stage over the years.

really? you haven't seen it?
actually...i like it. always interesting to see
people like Mick Jagger in a different context - off stage.

some people thought it was lame....but i (generally) like
documentaries/"behind the scenes" stuff.

Nope, never seen it.

I think I was out of town when it was on TV, and haven't gotten around to seeing it yet.

It's pretty good...get to see more of Mick's personality. It's a very behind the scenes look at the making of "Goddess..." which makes it a little more interesting...him recording with Lenny kravitz....Pete Townshend...

Would've been an interesting times ten if the documentary was about him AND the Stones rather than his solo career...

Ronnie has a great personality. A cousin of my wife invests and collects antique rail cars. When Steel Wheels was around he got a call from mick himself inquiring about renting the car for a party (Mick has a fascination with trains) They said yes. and unlike other times they rented out the rail car, they were present for the party. (The rest of the arrangements were made from mgmt.) At the the party my wife's cousin got into a 20 minute conversation with Ronnie about his train collection (that's when he learned of Mick's interest). After a while he (cousin) says to Ronnie, "I cannot believe I am sitting here talking to Ron Wood" Woody replied,"I can't believe I'm sitting here talking to the owner of this amazing Rail Car" (with martini in hand)

It gave Mick the inspiration for writing:

"Driving Too Fast"
