IMO.. one of the best live songs. Will it ever be played live again?

As far as I know, it was only played in 89-90 (now someone like Gazza will correct me) and it was absolutely FANTASTIC in combination with the light show, smoke, etc, reminded me at the time of a 60s type light show but much enhanced.

AND THEN, it segued into SFTD followed by Paint it Black, all three held together by a sort of common theme/feeling glue.

When the band asked for suggestions before the ABB tour began, it was one of my three recommendations.

Sure wish they would.

Great surprise to hear in 89 in the days before internet and real time setlists

It was the last song id expected to hear. i had no idea what the set would be save for the usual (SMU IORR JJF etc)

Saw them in Raliegh and i thought it was going into Shes a Rainbow cuz Clifford played the opening chords at end of TLYFH.

Also i never (i don't know why) expected Rambler, PIB, and surely Play With Fire.
Ruby or even Bitch. lots of gems on that tour

Despite what many people would think this psykedelic single flip-side worked out perfect live. In fact, one of the highlights at the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tour. And maybe the most exciting live-song I can recall.

......my first Stones show was in 1989.....a friend told me to expect Ruby Tuesday, but no one warned me about 2000 Light Years.....my head almost exploded I was so happy......I still remember Wyman doing that mystical bass riff while Jagger walks around the stage sort of like an Egyptian.....

Could a reason for them never doing it again, be that they won't do it without Bill ?

I guess the main reason is that Bill and Matt (who played the synths) are gone.

Best psychodelic Stones' song. Or one of the best songs ever...

BTW: Monster Magnet is going to cover 2000LYFH on their upcoming album "4 Way Diablo" to be released this fall. Should be interesting since they have good psychodelic vibe in their sound.
