Sixty going on six. Someone needs to give him a time out and let him play with his blocks.

if you think that the stones would have acted any differently, or that the police (nothing against them) would have protected anyone (all the policies are reactive) you are sadly mistaken. The problem here lies with the event planner who should have had a performer entrance way and one for the princes. Elton's staff should have checked this too.

All celebs are spoiled primadonnas to some degree but throwing temper tantrums like a six year old is commonplace for Elton. I saw a video a few years ago where he was throwing a tantrum at reporters. He should grow up and act his age.

We common folk have to endure inconveniences and most of us do it without throwing tantrums and acting like we need a good spanking. How many hardships can this pampered boob have? He should try living like an ordinary guy for a week and then he will see how pampered his life really is.

Hey HS/MB are you a photog? Were you a photog? pro or amateur?
has this ever come up before? I'm a pro photographer?

re: elton..........yes it's sad. i'm a fan of his '70s music but
have never understood how people that have so much can still be pricks.
he's not shy about the fact that he's an a-hole/SOB and constantly throws
tantrums but he used to be able to blame it on his drug habit or that the
british press was picking on him.

re: security (in general)....i also agree that these folks abuse their
little power-trip. on the other hand, if they don't enforce things...it's
their ass. Oh sure..event planners could have made a separate walk-way
for celebs...but c'mon! in this case it was only 50 yards.

re: elton's hair.......i know he was bald...and i know that he had
hair transplants in the early '80s.....and i know that there was a
period when he wore moe howard-like wigs......but i also know that
hair transplant technology has improved quite a bit......anybody know for sure?

with all the face lifts etc.....the hair on top of his head might actually
be overgrown side-burns...or worse. winking smiley

Yeah SNC, I'm an up and down professional - on a break right now - and upgrading/transfering everything to Digital. In fact, my Mac guy was over here FOR HOURS today putting all the Macbook Pro Laptop/Notebook's (2 - 15.4" Screens - one for the GF who's also a photographer AND one 17" for "on the road Photoshop work") on wireless/airport whatever you call it. The main system is the dual core G5 monster with 2 23" HD Mac Monitors and just picked up the EPSON 3800 Printer that will do 18 x 22 prints (I believe that's the max size). We didn't even get to that printer today since he now has my older one on wireless - amazing how this all works, WAY over my head.
On the camera front I've switched over to CANON EOS 5D bodies (need the full frame thing, don't want to do 1.3 conversions with all my lenses). For Film I have EOS 3/EOS 1-N bodies and tons of Lens, mainly "L". I do International Travel and Fashion - bounce back and forth - have my own Photo Studio with 24 hour access. Studio Equipment - Speedatron Black Line, 4 flash heads, Softboxes, Sekonic flash meters... Gotta a guy coming in August to do a couple web sites for me, will give you the website address when we finish in Sept, gotta get back on the road. I love shooting and getting the shot, everything is kinda an after thought IMHO so Road Rat life is my thing.... all this OTHER STUFF? Well, now a days, it's part of the process so, for better or for worse, one must learn to work with it all these days. I don't even call it photography anymore, I call DIGITAL IMAGING... what can you do? EVERYTHING CHANGES.....half the time my head is spnning. I'm a simple Photographer that admires people like Henri-Cartier Bresson , Penn, Richard Avedon, and Andrej Kertesz - this Jetsons stuff is kind hard to get used to.....

When being interviewed (for 'Q' magazine I think) on the release of BTB, Keith dismissed Elton as only being able to "write songs for dead blondes" (his reworked version of 'Candle in the wind' as a tribute to Princess Di had just been released).

Elton, not surprisingly, didnt take it too well and whilst expressing his admiration for Mick, described Keith as an "arthritic monkey" whom the Stones should have got rid of years ago.

Thanks Rockman... well, there have been significant improvements, I can see that now - lol... Man, 1827 - we're talking getting close to 200 years - that's amazing !! Wonder what 200 years from now (if the planet is still around) will look like, can't imagine - definitely a TOTAL mind bender.... makes one think....

Helter....thanks for the info. I can relate to everything you said.
I'm a Nikon guy myself with a photojournalism background. These days
I'm mostly doing env portraits/editorial/pro sports/music/events/annual reports
etc... etc.... you know anything that pays the bills and makes me happy.
I've been 100% freelance since 2000. Before that i was a newspaper guy and
a full-time University photographer for 14 yrs. (I used Canon EOS at the University gig).

Make-shift studio in the basement...with equipment similar to your list.

Not a lot of travel or fashion photography...but I (obviously) respect the
photogs you mentioned.

Switched to digital in mid 2005 and I also work on a couple Macs.
I'm a little jealous of your HD Mac monitors...but I'm re-modeling my office right
now....maybe I'll add one to my shopping list.

Always learning.

SNC, I think the Mac 23's are fine then I hear from a Friend who shoots for Getty Images (Travel stuff, mainly India and SE Asia, he's having a house built in Bali with these huge waterfalls in the living room - just crazy shit) and he tells me EIZO's are the only way to go (he's a MAC man but not on the monitors). This is about 2 years ago and I'd never hear of Eizo so I Goggle it. Some kind of Japanese(?) monitors that not even B and H Photo carried (but they - Eizo - did have a nice website). Well, my friend is a top PS guy so I figure he knows what he's talking about. Well now they're finally getting known. Calumet Photo has a 24" for the same price as a 30" HD MAC.... I was like, F - that, those are CRAZY prices creeping up... It's like the HASSELBLAD DIGITAL at something like $32,000 or $36,000, body only!!! NO WAY !!! It just gets insane and in 5 years all this stuff is gonna be 75% cheaper... or bypassed.... It's crazy, things are moving too fast - thank God for "No Interest - 18 Month deals" Like getting an 18 month interest free loan - I'LL TAKE IT !!! Sounds like you have a good set up going SNC, so many changes going on all the time it's good to have some solid area's to be involved in. TRAVEL is not one of them anymore with the World wide terrorism. They just had a bad one (attack) in Yemen ... Yemen was/is on my "to do/visit" list - gotta stock up on the valium -lol.... Awww, what can one do, either go or someone else is willng to go, that's what it's down to......
