No, I haven't. That was written as a semi-joke, although I admire the man's talent and really dig that song. Just don't need him singing it at a Stones show. Maybe he could beat the hell out of Mike Love and take over that gig! winking smiley

i haven´t found nearly as many great reviews about iow as i found bad reviews about werchter and frankfurt.
the youtube clips from iow didn´t really convince me either.

i don´t say they should stop, i agree that this is up to them.

but they can´t stop now, they have to finish this european tour. even if they wanted to stop they couldn´t right now. so that they don´t stop now doesn´t show that they think there is no reason to stop. i am pretty sure that everybody in and around that band is aware of the situaton but they have no choice right now.

not in micks, but in ronnies and chucks face you could see what they thought.
and also in the faces of the audience.

Baboon, let´s forget it all, OK?
Respect is one thing, in our case I think the span between our years should not be a problem, in case youre not + 20 years older or so, then I would automatically respect that.
Sorry if I did not explain more clearly what I meant, as I meant no harm or anything. I thought I pointed that out clearly.
Let´s just forgive and forget, OK? I do not want to put you down, instead I enjoy your enthusiasm. I sincerely hope you can make it to Gothenburg.

Perhaps that's because there were many fewer "Stones fans" at the IoW who'd gone there specifically to see the Stones. Most people who were there were not Stones fans and do not post on Stones' fan sites.

Not sure what has happened to Keith in such a short time. I saw 10 ABB shows in the USA in 2005/06 ( the last show in Sept 2006 ) and, for the most part, Keith was holding his own. He had good nights and OK nights but never what you've described.

I'm sad...

Keef is ranked higher in the US than in ol' Europe. Thats my view upon it.

Nice said, Dog!

I also want to point out that old Artithis thing.

The man is goping to be 6 @#$%& 4 & has a - as far as we can see -
increasingly worsened hand and/or joint (!?!) Artrithis.

Does it have to be more than that??
Painkillers you get are better than, say, thorty years ago..
But still I reckon ya normally get dizzy by them & all the other things
we've seen described in these threads.

oh - and what is apparently the best cure for arthritis ?.. a joint!. Exactly what people dont want him to do anymore...
I'd say f**K the painkillers as they are bad for your liver and ave a joint instead old boy...

I know people in worse shape than Keef, he's actually IMO above average fitness for his age - he just looks a wee bit haggard...lol

Im a big presley fan but i hate to say - elvis mumbled and looked worse than keef at 42... enough said!.

I sit a wonder why some people is bashing other people, when they tell about what they has experienced at shows. If a great number of dedicated Stones fans in this forum tells us, that something is terrible wrong within the band and with the performances, why should they try and denie it and bash people?
Perhaps the Rolling Stones has become to great a part of their lives and they fear what will happen, when it's all over?
I often wonder why many people here go to 5, 7 or even 10 shows each tour. They must have jobs, friends, families and other interests. I just wonder.
Really it's just a rock'n'roll band...the greatest...but if it's time to stop...then it's time to stop. We'll have the memories, the records, the DVDs and so. They have given the greatest part of their lives to this crazy business and we have to be thankfull for that.
I think the review that started this thread was moving, concerning and loving. And I don't think anyone should be so 100% certain, that it's so terrible wrong. I havn't seen the band on this tour yet, but I'm very worried about the reports concerning Keith.
I don't bloody mind if they don't play another gig because of that. BUT I do mind quite a lot if Keith feels somewhat forced to continue to fullfill some tour plans. If he's not well, they should simply cancel or pospone the tour.

Really can't wait for the Stones to come to Rome, I'm worried about Keith with all these reports. But If Keith IS actually playing great, or at least as good as the last tours, as I still think, and as the few videos i saw showed, i think lot of people should explane what the hell they were talking about.
And about what Keith want or doesn't want to tour, he told us so clearly recently: "i'll perform in a wheelchair".

A nice countermeasure farawayeyes2....

im not that worried for keef - he appears happy, including off stage, im actually glad he's put on a few pounds - and the cookie duster dont look too bad although he appears to have trimmed it down a bit from that awards doo a few months ago..

he whacks a few bum notes - he'll get better thru the tour as ususal -

I wud like to see a new "unplugged2" album from them and a decent break in the next few years..

Botox + vodka = puffy face, a few missed notes, a lot of good ones.

Keith's fine.

Check out the video and audio clips.

See you at MSG in 2009.

turd--

your post was incredibly insightful and moving. i cannot express how sad i am beginning to feel, if this is really true. the joy that keith has brought to my life is beyond comprehension. i can only take comfort in what someone else posted: keith is really strong, and who knows, maybe he just has had a few off days and will proceed to dazzle us as the tour progresses.

what i DO know is: when it is time, i do not want keith -- my all-time rock-god hero -- to go out with a whimper, but with the biggest bang of all.

Exactly, which means that the so called concern some people are expressing is about themselves and not the Stones.
