I understand the concern, but I am not so sure it's really needed. The man is 63, after all. He, like the rest of us, must slow down at some point. I'm 40, and haven't abused my body near as much as Keith, and I can tell you this: I'm not ready to go on tour. The fact that he does tour is enough to me. That says he's ok.

How can you watch an interview with Keith and say he should quit? I can feel his love for the music and the fans when that big grin forms and those eyes just show love for his music. He is the biggest Rolling Stones fan ever. He loves to perform and he loves us, the fans. There is not one other musician I can say that I believe that about, but I really do believe that about Keith.

He is playing just fine. Maybe I'm just more optimistic about things.
Let Keith go on as long as HE wants to. If he had to quit, that when I think he would die.

Jumpin' JackFrash....you are awfully wise for a 21-year-old. A lot of the old fogies here could learn a lot from you and from your attitude.

Well done!

The demise of Keith Richards?

I'll believe it when I see it in person, with my own eyes.

Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it, with my own eyes.

Anyone else thinks 'chelskeith' is bogus?

....I don't think "chelskeith's bogus".....I agree that he should see it with his own eyes....I respect that kind of judgement....However, I do hope he understands that his observations from rehearsals in 2005, or whenever, is really not relevant to turd's observations, to which we are responding today....

I can only tell you that at the Atlantic City concert, Keith was on fire and his set was superb...what happened since then??? Not much I'm sure...

One night, one of you will be there to witness a good night for him which will equal sheer brilliance I assure you!

I understand "Turd" is providing a much more current opinion than rehearsals from two years ago, or a show from nine months ago, but I have also heard this type of banter for many years, over and over again, so that's why I say I need to see it myself.

I wonder if its not more of just an off night and some bad sound than Keith having some of the serious problems many people are speculating about.

Why Bogus? Well, my background is similar to your background, and I just wondered how anyone a bit closer to the guys could deny that currently something is not quite right. But as you stated that you haven't seen them since six months it is now understandable for me. So please accept my apologies. In case we'll meet, the drink goes on my bill!

i can understand that you want to see yourself. i saw them in frankfurt and now i no longer believe that they were great in iow. i really need to go again and see myself as long as people can go to the frankfurt show and say afterwards keith was on fire. that´s just completely wrong.

You don't believe they were great in IoW because you saw them in Frankfurt and have your opinion of what you heard and saw, which is fair enough. But by that same token, anyone who saw them at the IoW (and I am one of those) could just as easily dismiss your opinion of Frankfurt. These descriptions of Keith at Frankfurt that I've been reading on here simply do not equate to the Keith I saw at IoW. And like Ablett, I find some - and I stress SOME (not all) - of these doom-merchant views pretty appalling in their arrogance. It's for Keith to decide when or not he quits - not the likes of us, whatever the judgement of his playing. And his three fellow band members are more qualified in their judgement of his problems and capabilities than any of us and if they think he's not up to it, they'll eventually call it quits because there's only so much carrying that any of them can do. I find it hard to believe they'd continue if they thought he was not up to it - they must surely be more concerned about Keith and his/their reputation than any of us.

Thanks for the review Turd. It was very moving to read. I'm sure you've told us excactly what you experienced at the show. And I do believe that something is wrong...too many people have said so, we've seen the photos of Keith and so on.
I've hoped that it was just a flu or something, but if he dosn't get better within the next 2 or 3 shows, well dare I say it?

Keith has always been the engine of this band and if he's not able to play the game anymore..well then it's all over.

I can understand other fans protesting over these bad reviews, but somehow I feel they're living in fantasy land and are not able to come to grips with the pure facts. I don't want the dream to be over and I hope for the best...but when quite a few people who really love this great band tell the same stories about the way Keith behaves, I find no reason not believing it.
There's really no reason to bash these people, they're really concerned and you shold be as well.

If Keith hadn't fallen from this f****** tree last year, they wouldn't been on the road this summer and then they would propably not have touring again for a few years or forever perhaps. And then everyone would have been spared for this. It is really really sad if this great rock adventure has to end this way.
I have tickets for a show in August, I hope for the best, but if the reports don't get better soon, I'll stop believing.
Still I saw one of the greatest shows by the just 9 months ago and would very much wish that I hadn't tickets for this next one, if these reports are true.

And if Keith really is in such a bad state, they really ought to stop this tour right now and let him have a few good years in the care of his family.

In my county some 75 people were beheaded in the 1670s.
They were called witches. God help those who defended these poor people.
Only a daytrip northwards, others were ice-cold to those
accusation, and instead punished those who accused other for witches.

I see this as IORR's witch process. One'd better say the right things.

I am sure they will do that. There is no way they would continue if any of them were in a consistently unfit state.

I usually do not read or write to "Tell Me" but I feel compelled. To all those "saddened" by Keefs deterioration, lack of focus etc....

What did you expect?? He is . what, 70 something years old? He has lived 22 life times. We should be happy is is still alive.

The problem...or "blessing" about the Stones is that their image from 60s-70s looms so large that it's hard to think of them as...well....human.

I think all of us in the back of our minds will always see Keef setting the stage on fire with an opening from ADTL in 72, his build up of insane tension from SFM , his endless Chuck riffing on Carol, his tight madness on MR, and his searing licks from Star Star.

It's hard to look past that but look we must. I mean....one day we are going to read that one of the boys has died. I'm sorry, but it will happen and I like you will realize that we too, will one day die!

Rock on.

Whatever happens to Keith, I raise my glass to him...they guy IS rock and roll, no matter what....I am simply devastated to hear these reports...its likely a tough call for him, no matter what he does. So many people want to hear him, that you know he wants to play, I just PRAY that the next show is the best one ever!

Here's to Keith....at exactly 6:00 PM US east coast time, everyone hear should lift the glass and toast him......I know he'd feel it.

Nice seeing you, Cafaro, seeing you posting here.

These crazed times needs some reasonable Georgian folks.

I will now pay respect to Keith by removing all irrelevant postings and sentences in my posts respectively.

Raise a glass & save a prayer for a new firey torch along this tour,
by midnight C.E.T, like stone-relics says.
