yeah, it should not have come down to that last minute crap

they let them back into the game after being well ahead

well, I take solace in this - in the 80s and 90s, the niners habitually won the games they should have won, ie against inferior teams such as New Orleans, Atlanta and such and at least, Cal has done so today, they did not allow themselves to be upset. So there!
