Is there anyplace in the world where you can get genuine Absinthe anymore?

A friend of mine got some absinthe from england. we were both ignorant as to how your supposed to drink it. I just took a shot of it straight and had THE worst stomach ache of my life!

It's a hallucinogen and illegal in most parts of the world. I read an article recently that states that a form of Absinthe is available in certain parts of Europe, but with the hallucinogenic qualities removed.

Perhaps someone from that side of the pond can enlighten us about that.

what I heard is that It gets you drunk, but it doesnt make you tired or loose your motor skills. It can let your creativity come out.

That looks like the stuff, SCL. I think it's the thujone that our law enforcement has a problem with. I would have to wonder if an order from those people would actually arrive at your doorstep, or would it be the real stuff?

hopefully the law enforcement are absinthe midned about it.

I hope someone from the Old World can tell us more about Absinthe as it is today. I really would like to know more about it.

Actually I got that site from the web site of a radio show I listen to. It's called the Don & Mike show. It's a nationally syndicated show out of DC.......Think Howard Stern lite...But they have done a couple shows where they supposedly drank Absinthe on the air. The link I mentioned is from their website www.thedonandmikeshowwebsite.com...........I guess what they do is mix it with sugar and or water.

Some other bourbon than JD - cannot remember the name on the bottle. Not as good, though ;-) Still - goes fine with Robert Johnson
