RS DVD'S in London

Which Rolling Stones dvd's is possible to buy in regular shops (like Virgin megastore or something like that) in London. My friend went to London, so I would like to order some RS dvd's from her that are rare or that I can't buy in my country. I have Babylon '97., Max'90., Let's spend '81.,and 4 Flicks 2002/2003.

Rock & Roll Circus
One + One/Sympathy for the Devil
The Stones in the Park
Gimme Shelter
(with the two in the middle, be sure to specify that you want the recent re-releases,
which include worthwhile extras)

I'm just home from London and the regular shops don't really have that many DVDs with the Stones, sorry to say.

But if your gf should happen to get near Camden Town Market I saw a lot of boot DVD's ("Argentina" springs to mind) for app GBP 15,-)

I did not buy any of them personally as we've got the four DVD next month and then later in the year there will be Martin Scorcese's movie - enough for me I reckon (plus "youtube" that seems to be a neverending well of goodies)

Borna

The UK is definately not the cheapest place on the planet to be buying DVDs.

You can usually get them from the US much cheaper even including postage.

Just make sure they are the correct region for your player.

You have to watch out, too, for the taxes and a socalled "handling charge" - depending on where you live, I reckon.

I bought my Gram Parsons tribute DVD from the US together with a DVD by Lucinda Williams. It so happened that LW was sold out so they were shipped separately and I had to pay this socalled "handling charge" for each + taxes because they were going from the US to the EU ;-) (Funny thing - they arrived at exactly the same date anyways???)

I ended up paying around 50% extra all in all. And the way it's done - you have to pay at the PO to get your goods and as you've already paid the original price -to say Amazon - you almost HAVE to pay so as not to lose your original payment.

Just a word of warning.

mofur in the UK we have an allowance of £18.00 for any goods you are buying from non european countries.

As long as you keep your spending for the actual goods below this then it is tax / import duty free.

Go 1p over it an if they check it, wham you will pay duty an vat not only on the value of the goods but also on the postage / shipping costs, this usually works out at 33% on top.

They will also hit you with a collection charge of between £4 and £15 depending on courier used.

Madmaxx:

OK - as far as I know we don't don't have an "allowance" in Denmark - which is funny as we're both in the EU together?

I'll see if I can find the old bills for the DVD's as I kept them to remind me never to buy anything from the US again *lol*

I thought this International purchase personal allowance was used throughout the EU.

Cannot find anything to back it up though.
