It is probably mentioned somewhere but Keith will play the guitar in "pirates". The song is called "Only found out yesterday"....

Yeah! So people, dress up, shout and cheer and give him standing ovations when you head off to see Pirates III. OK, I know a few people won't admit they're going to see the movie, not on this board anyway, but when you do go and see it, you're in for a treat.

Shout and cheer? Knowing this board most of the people actually going to the movie will probably run for the restrooms as soon as Keith appears on the silverscreen....bah

I'm definitely going (with my 11 years old son).

As for the song - doesn't that line sound like something out of "Thru and Thru" (If memory serves: "I only found out yesterday, heard it on the news...")??

Going to see it in some posh armchair cinema place up in Notting Hill Gate in a couple of weeks, looking forward to it.

Mofur - you are dead-on with the lyric! That is from Thru & Thru, one of Keef's greatest compositions.

I can't find anything about the soundtrack other than Zimmer's score, which is coming out on 5/22.

Come on fellas, quit with the inflatable palm trees [aren't they punctured yet ? !]

I fully expect to see most of you turning up at this summer's shows in pirate outfits, toting inflatable cutlasses and flying the Jolly Roger ;^)

I've seen the first two (theatre and DVD) and will see this one. Depp's imitation of Keith in the 1st one was so dead on the money. Really funny to watch. the story line isn't bad (if a little far fetched - not as much as Spidey or Batman though).

Looking forward to seeing Keith's part. Wouldn't it be ironic if he became a "movie star" accidentally after Mick has tried so hard all these years?

nanker, I'm with you - Go dawgs! BTW, are you gonna join us at the Braves game on June 19?

I think Keith is the ONLY reason I will go out and see this movie. I liked the first 2 Pirates movies enough to maybe rent them, but not to spend $9 or whatever it is these days to see a movie in the theaters... But for Keith, I'll spend the $9...

Depp's cool, too, but the silly squid-guy and all the fantasy characters I could do without!

Not too sure where I read this, but did Keith not have a walk-on part in one of Anita Pallenberg's film back in the day?

An even smaller part than this one as I'm pretty sure it was a silent part (not a silent movie, mind you - not that far back in the day *lol*)

Down in my part of the world (where it's hot already), I really enjoy going to the theatre on a HOT day. Nice cold air conditioning, the ultra buttered popcorn, the $4 drinks, the loud speakers ... a nice way to spend the afternoon. An enjoyable, mindless movie with Keith in it - so much the better.

yeah - he was in a scene in a 1969 Michael Kohlhaas film called Der Rebell (Man on Horseback)

Maybe he is just mumbling that line from "Thru and Thru".

The next line "I heard it on the news" was cut out.

For all of us impatient types: some theatres are showing POTC III on Thursday night.
I got tics from Fandango just now for an 8 p.m. showing in Nashville.

I have seen the Pallenberg film, too (by the same director who made "A Degree Of Murder"), at a German cultural center years ago. What I recall was that KR has a very brief (don't blink) cameo, and that the film is not as good, or interesting, as ADOM. Not in the same league as "Performance" either. Or, even "Barbarella". ("Dillinger Is Dead"? "Candy"?)...Better off checking out "Invocation Of My Demon Brother" ('70) w/ Mick's soundtrack.

This brings on another question - I have the soundtrack to a "A Degree of Murder" by Mr. Jones - albeit in a somewhat bad quality - soundwise. Is this available anywhere? Not, that it's any good (IMHO), but hey - you are either a collector or you are not *lol*

I have a boot copy of the film (A Degree), on video...Never understood, given Brian's stardom in '66 - 67, why no soundtrack was ever released. Or even since then, since Page, Hopkins, Kenny Jones, etc all became well known musicians. It's pretty good w/in the context of the movie, as his only composed music issued publicly very interesting historically, so I gather there's a problem with the rights? I mean, even if it wouldn't make a great album, there are hundreds of terrible soundtrack albums and scores released...
