New Ron Wood Set?

Is there truth to this? I read that Wooden records is supposed to put out a Box Set of Ronnie this year containing livetunes, outtakes from his last two solo albums and two unreleased albums: Automatic (1987) and After School (1996). To coincide with the book on him. In no Database have I read about Ronnie doing a lot of recording on his own. It would have taken place in relatively down times. But it seems to me that Ronnie will use many of the same folks for his musicians. Thought we'd have heard about some of it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems to me the stuf he is releasing already basically done, so he wouldn't be doing more recording.

Ronnie has two unreleased albums in the can?
Any informations, why they were not released
in their time?

As far as I know, the only confirmed release from Wooden Records is a package of the Kilburn show on DVD and CD. Speculation as to what a potential box set of outtakes could mean is where all the other talk comes from. The unreleased Automatic LP from 1987 was largely reworked as Slide On This. Tracks like Show Me, It Must Be Love, and Knock Yer Teeth Out were recorded for Automatic as was a version of the Bobby Womack song, So High. This track later received official release on a bonus disc from Genesis Publishing. Bobby ended up releasing the song himself on his 1994 LP, Resurrection on Woody's label, Slide On Records. After School was the title of a proposed instrumental album recorded for Koch Records in 1996. Several tracks (like King of Kings) later found their way to Not For Beginners. Woody's covers of You Really Got a Hold On Me and Chain of Fools originate from this time (there was another Don Covay cover that Woody did with Bernard on vocals as well, but the title escapes me). The finished version of A Little Mixed Up on Woody's Virgin Records compilation also heralds from these sessions.

Thanks erik and Rocky. Erik did all the research. And then that ties in exactly to what Rocky wrote. Just could not imagine that there really would be that many finished songs still laying around.

Have this one. A pretty nice duet with Bobby Womack.

Wooden Records was gonna put out a live Barbarians set from New York some time a few years ago. Then Ronnie and his wife split up and it never happened. Shame.

Wooden Records was talking boxed set, but then the divorce happened and I think the Crossexion anthology kind of took its place. Too bad, Wooden Records put out some key releases (Kilburn, New Barbarians) in the short time they were around.

Remember hearing about Automatic and After School and being frustrated by their lack of release.

Chain of Fools and Really got a Hold on Me came out on the Koch version of Slide On Live.

Forever was an unreleased gem from IGMOATD, eventually released redone on I Feel Like Playing (as well as live on the First Barbarians at Kilburn).

The only other major unreleased Ronnie Song I can think of is Tiger Balm, which is mentioned in the Gimme Some Neck liner notes with the the phrase "Coming Soon!" in parenthesis. LOL, nothing seems to come soon with Ronnie.

Oh, also he's credited with Charlie Sexton on an instrumental on the soundtrack for the movie "The Wild Life".

Come to think, Ronnie kept promising he would do an album with Rod -- was fooling about in that direction, that's where "You Strum and I'll Sing" came from.

Then, in late '08, reports were that a entire album had been completed by Rod and Ronnie. I thought "At last!" Then in Jan "09, it was said to be a Faces album:

Then the Faces would tour... Now a Ronmnie solo album comes out, with Rod on nothing and not listed as a co-writer. Wonder what the deal is?
