'89: the first professional Stones tour. Flashpoint is really strong. The "beginning of the second half" as Keith said.

I think we need to define the word "professional". By the way, it IS professional to deliver a flawless show in front of 70.000 people like the stones did in 1978, even though there are no horns and BU-singers.

No, this is the last Stones tour. After that they have been The Rolling Stones inc. safe sounding no danger magic is gone forever, on tour.

Beginning of the massive join cooperation between the Rolling Stones, the media who wants interviews, the fans, the "good old Keith-era", "cold turley isnt hard" era, the opne liners, the kicking Keith, the era were Mick provides the onlyu danger by getting some girl pregnant, "Mick is the PR-man", the "retro compare them to the the Beatles and tell your children about this great band that once were"-era.

Beginning of the fat Elvis era if you ask me. Many highlights yes I agree but not the real deal. It is not the "real band", it is a compromise between two men who could not survive on their own.

First saw 'em in 1981 - they were great. Seen every American tour since - they're still great.

the 1981 show i saw in buffalo was certainly better than the 1978 show there. but in 1989 it was excellent. the first night in toronto was the last time they played that excellend song "One Hit" (from that GREAT album DIRTY WORK) and the highlights were huge on that tour, expecially "2,000 light years", "time is on my side", "undercover of the night", "harlem shuffle", glad i saw that show 4 times!!!!! and the last time mr. perkins played with them....

My reasoning:

1) Show starts on time
2) Assigned seating (I'm too old now for FOS humanity-crush)
3) Encores (a rarity pre-89)
4) Guitar section "reasonable approximation" of sobriety
5) Video screens (also lights, stage, sound system, B-stage, etc)
6) Performance is consistent show-to-show
