The official sponsor of the Rolling Stones show at Valle Hovin Oslo 1998 were the famous hot dog (wiener) factory Leiv Vidar. They made a slogan for the show in 1998: "Leiv Vidar proudly presents the show that'll skin your wiener". Somebody in the touring management did not like it, and it was never used, except it do exist on some marketing material from that tour. But Keith Richards was told about it, said it was great, and for this tour, when they come back to Valle Hovin Oslo Aug 8 2007, the slogan is official:

Leiv Vidar proudly presents the show that'll skin your wiener

PS. The manager of Leiv Vidar company is Arne Vidar. A big Stones fan of course, having seen the band 20-30 times in USA, Canada, Norway etc.

At first I thought about "wiener" meaning my §%?% !

The bloke who owns the company, Arne Vidar, really is a true fan. And some have said that he only employs other Stones-fans... The people working in the production halls listen to the Stones - boots and official gems - all day!
The last time he sponsored a Stones-show in Oslo, there was supposed to be an ordinary "meet and greet"-happening. The kind of thing the band really hates. Posing with the clients of their sponsors...
Arne Vidar knew this, and wanted to make his personal twist on the whole thing. So he just invited his friend, another hard core fan, and his friend's little 4-year old daughter, and his own little daughter.
The Stones just loved it! And Keith was charmed almost to tears when a little 4-year old, named Anne Marie, went up to him and said: "I LOVE YOU"! He asked the band photographer to take some photos of them together, so he goes down on his knees, and kisses her cheek. And the cute, blonde, big eyed girl is extatic. (And her dad's almost in tears, too)
If her dad sees this, perhaps he can post the photo now? The girl's grown up and everything!

..it's funny allright....but the more I think about its literal meaning, I find it to be painful and disturbing....

If your business is pølser - hot dogs - and you are rock'n'roll - and you have put a million or so into having your name on the poster, then it is not lame to have such a slogan. Most other bank and business related slogans are lame. I think this one is ok. At least it is different...

This is the only sponsor slogan so far that's NOT lame.
And besides, if you're into junk food - which many people on this board are - obviously - this sponsor, LEIV VIDAR, makes the best wieners in Norway. World wide, too - according to those who eat them.

I don't eat wieners much. Too phallic for my tastes. I eat pizza slices though. That's way more vaginal and it also tastes better.
