you can see why Keef's been wearing that bandana a lot, he's receeding fast

mind you, he could just ask Mick for some plug hints. i hope he goes down gracefully though

May she rest in peace.

Keith looks more and more like a pimp - what's that with the dark coloured hair now? And still the moustache...

Bill W. was also there. He cancelled a date in Germany to attend the funeral.

LOL!!! Yeah, he kind of looks like the pimp played by James Woods in Scorsese's movie Casino.

That was very nice of Bill to do .

Amazing that someone manages to squeeze in the 'keiths going bald' crap on the page!

My thoughts exactly. It ought just to be a reminder for folks to spare a few thoughts and prayers for Keith [and his family].

Why should we do this when we don't even know the guy ? Because he's given many of us more pleasure than anything in our lives outside our own families.

Yes! The champions of superficial rule this site. Shallow Hal's big brothers.
Condolences to the Richards family, and may she rest in peace.
And yes, a very nice gesture from Bill Wyman. But he's a decent man. And only 20 years her junior...

Maybe the "going bald" subject isn't really related to the funeral, but Keith is a public figure and the comments weren't exactly rude. You say we don't even know Keith. Correct. But despite this we still have a whole forum devoted to him (among others), and there's no way we can only discuss things that are only ok regardless if we "know him" or not. Why do we talk about his funeral in the first place, anyway?

He was? Well done, Bill. Somewhat surprising as Bill & Keith were never that close and have probably hardly been in touch or seen each other for a long time. Very nice gesture on his part.

I'm not that surprised - it seems they were still in touch whenever Keith was in England, I think Bill mentionned it in his diary. And at funerals (at least in France) you often invite people you hardly see, old friends and distant family. And maybe Bill got along well with Doris.

It was reported last summer that Keith & Patti lunched w/Bill at his place in France.

I think there's a good Stones-tradition for turning up in family funerals. Think I've seen pix of all the boys from Eva's funeral, and Joe's. It's a natural thing to do, they've known eachother for more than 45 years. And they certainly knew eachother's parents. Doris used to come to London, to feed the three starving, young men in 102 Edith Grove. She didn't have much herself, apparently, but she actually came in from Dartford to see to that they got at least a few decent meals. (Read this in several bios) I would think Mick has not forgotten this, either.

I read that about Doris too, that she would go in and feed them, and do their laundry possibly (or was that Eva)?

Condolences to the extended Richards family, Doris gets sent away with the love of her one little boy, what more could a mama want.

I'm glad to hear about Bill & Ronnie paying their respects. It means a lot to me for some strange, illogical reason that would sound crazy to a non-Stones fan (or maybe to Stones fans too) :-).

Did Mick or Charlie attend? Or any other musicians/celebrities?

Yeah. Maybe he did it for Doris. She seems like the type that was a blessing to everyone around her..

Lots more pix of the Richards' extended family on Rocks Off. Thanks To Gypsy for finding them

Check out the nice pic of Keith & Doris that's on the Order of Service that Ronnie is holding.

Wow that made me really sad. Interesting to see the one of Keith's "first family"

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

When the chips are down you know who your friends are. The love and warmth between Keith and Ronnie is so obvious from that pic (where Ronnie is holding the photo). It warmed the heart to see it.

My mom died very suddenly on 10 April at age 62. Doesn't sound strange in the least to me. Having friends--some of whom I haven't talked to in years--contact me or show up means literally everything to me right now.

And definitely condolences to a man who introduced me--directly or indirectly--to basically every piece of music I've ever cared about.

Hey Rev, sorry to hear that, it must be awful. 62 is way too early to go.

Hope all your friends and family are all helping you through this.
Shine a light...

Ohhh, Rev. I'm SO SORRY to hear that! I hope you are doing well, sincere condolences to you. My mom died at age 52 - the only thing worse than losing your mom, is losing her too early. Then again 52, 62, 91 - it still hurts when they leave, you only have one mom. But as I wrote above, there's nothing a mom wants more than to have the love of her little boy, if I go to heaven with that - then I know I will be at peace. You can be sure you mom is at peace - it's obvious you love her very much.

And definitely condolences to a man who introduced me--directly or indirectly--to basically every piece of music I've ever cared about.

BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO! - He can snort his daughter's ashes and it still wouldn't change the fact that he's brought so much joy to my life.

RIP - Rev's mom.
