Oh no not that discussion again!
Why is it so hard to understand the fundamentals of the Rolling Stones?

1. Mick Taylor quit the band 30+ years ago and will not re-join
2. Bill Wyman quit the band 16+ years ago and will not re-join
3. The Stones will never quit touring

Even if it is not the last show, it is getting up there. And I have a feeling that both of them, especially Bill Wyman would very much like to play a show with the Stones. London of course would be ideal. Wyman might make rude comments about his old band and mates in the press, but they are tempered more and more with hims stating that he would be trhere to play a gig. If he were asked. And din't Taylor already show up a couple times? Time is passing; and that might be exactly what Jagger does not want to acknowledge. Wyman showing up on stage smacks of reunion; reunion smacks of near-ending.

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

Chelsea & BV - Taylor has shown up recently but didn't get to play, for
whatever reason. So no it's not out of the question (BV)

The stars just have to line-up correctly, and "something" will move Jagger &
Richards to "invite" Taylor & Wyman to sit-in ONE NIGHT - maybe in London!

I just hope the record it for release on DVD...

Because like 100 times per year someone is starting a new thread here on IORR asking if Bill or Mick T will re-join the Stones.

BV -

WE'RE NOT saying "RE-JOIN" just -- SIT-IN

I agree with you that's not going to happen and Taylor & Wyman agree, they
don't want to re-join - just sit-in for a night or two...

Well, I like the idea of finishing it ALL in London,
where it all began. Why can´t people just accept that
it MUST be over someday? They ain´t touring "forever",
bullshit.

They have done a lot of (bad) things to their own market during
the last years that this tour is a good way to end it all.

Bow out gracefully (as long as people recognize it).

What about Mick Taylor re-joining? Replace Ronnie on lead; good idea, right?!

Probably just as good idea as replacing your current partner with someone you used to live with 33 years ago.

ASlecs - That kind of comment will get you kicked off this Webpage!!

Most of the Taylor fans around here don't want to see Ronnie excluded,
just Taylor "included" .. and Wyman too for that matter..

One special night for old time sake...

The Stones don't "need" to play London. They played two stadium gigs there last year. The shows weren't cancelled. There is a great deal of significance with them playing their three shows "where it all began", just like there was significance in calling their most recent album "A Bigger Bang" and having oblique references to their past on the cover. In short. folks, catch 'em while you can for they won't be Rolling for much longer.

Yes, that would be great. Maybe with a big last free concert in London Hyde Park.

They changed the last O2 date so that it wouldn't clash with the meetings of both the Treasure Trove Reviewing Committee and the local branch of Weightwatchers.

Re: 26 aug london last stonesconcert ever ? with bill and mick t?
Date: May 1, 2007 11:05

These are two different concepts.....Bill and/or Mick T could drop by one of the O2 shows for old times sake and surprise us all. This wouldn't necessarily indicate this is a 'farewell' show.

I don't see it as impossible that Mick T and Bill could get up and play one song. It would, of course, be great to see but it isn't exactly the deal clincher.

I think that Bill would be the most likely to guest on a song out of the two due to his recent mutings about wanting to jam with the band, but it's still not that likely. Can you really see Bill asking them face-to-face to get up and jam?

Doesn't matter one iota whether it was 33 years ago or 333 years ago. Bill and Mick T earned their right to stand up on that stage before all the other musicians that get invited on stage (EC included).

It would certainly be a thrill for many to see Mick and Bill up there like the days of yore. I'd love to see Bill do In Another Land & Mick T maybe TWFNO. Then Ron, Keith & Mick T jam out on something like Sympathy For The Devil or Little Red Rooster.

On the downside for the Stones, I think it would highlight the significant gap that has grown between Mick T's and Keith & Ronnie guitar skills.

Ronnie seems like a lovely guy though so I can't see him being intimidated. Not sure what Keith's stance is though.
