Stones Tour 2007 Germany

Hello to all Stones Fans,
I am very sad about the Rolling Stones´ show concept and I hope, someone has the way to give it to the Stones! (Sorry for my english!) Since nearly 30 yars I went to the Stones Concerts and it was great. Some weeks ago, the dates for the shows in Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt are confirmed. I tried to get a ticket and wondered, that there are no tickets fos="Front of stage". Than I saw the first stadium plans and: there are seats in the inner area/ fos?!?!
I know that the fans of the Stones are become older, of course, but I think, a concert of the Stones has to have a front of stage area as the last 40 years, of course. That the price for one ticket will be over 190,00 Euros is the second greatest shock I have been got, since I am one of their greatest fans. (once more sorry for my english!)
What do You say, what do You think about seats in the inner area and the price of the tickets? Is there a way to the Stones for You to ask them?
Thanks for answers
--best regards
Caro

I aggree with you Carobello, this is a rock concert, and there shouldn't be any seats in inner area!

I don't think the overall mood of a show depends on wether the floor is seated or not.

It depends mostly on the audience.

Two years ago in Hartford the floor was seated and the crowd was in high spirits, think of Boston Garden and MSG. The crow was great.

Last year John Fogerty in Hammy the audience was as lame as an audience could be.

So it just depends on the crowd. And you may also think of people who are not so tall. For them it's better with seated floors to see something, although they're standing but they got more room in between the people. Not everybody can be first row or is 1.9m tall or even more.

Well, my Roadster, it does!

See above: A seated show attracts a different kind of audience.
That´s the problem: Most of the people want to sit when paying
those amounts.

People don't sit except on some occasions when Keith sings. There is really no difference in the excitement of the crowd. The issues are, those tickets demand a higher price (both for the Stones and Black Market) and you don't have to line up to get up front; you can sit in a bar near the stadium and walk in five minutes before the Stones take the stage. It has been this way in North America since 1989 and last year in UK.

Too Tough, I think it's the other way round. Not the people wanted to sit and are willing to pay for it. The Stones or the promoter or whoever thought about that bullsh$t that they could get a fortune if they put stools on the field.

It's better for me to stop here before I get angry again. Street Fighting Man is dead... It's only Rock'n Roll but we can't pay it.

Going to a Stones show will always cost a lot of money, but if you compare the money you spend on a Stones show per tour that is not much compared to drinks, food, sports, games, holidays or other less important things. Having chairs at shows is nothing new. They have had it in the US for years. Even in Norway many years ago. I remember going to a Dire Straits show where they had chairs. Drammenshallen. Then after two songs everybody rushed up front so who cares about the chairs? If you see shows in Europe yuu will see shows with chairs, but also, you will see hundreds of people in the walkways between the rows - in the isles. Not a big deal really. If you are desperate to see them up front then it is still possible.

Rüdiger, you are right. The people, who don´t want to sit,
don´t go. Like me. Instead of me and some others the seats
(surley wanted by Mr. Jagger) attract to others who are normally
not close to those areas.

A pity, for sure. The first German tour since 1990 without me.
And I´m happy to have some principles.

@TooTough
People on the field stand up when the Stones come out. They stand in front of their chairs!

@others
Sorry for repetition.

@ TooTough - you're not thaaat tough, I guess

exorbital shows have its prices

Too Tough - you are really tough

I couldn´t resist and still will go - but I do not like the whole idea. I am not satisfied with my tickets and with a fos ticket I always had the chance to be front row (or nearby), which I missed now.
And I also think that a lot of people who are not die hard fans do not go because of the seating (and the high price on the pitch). That´s what at least I´ve heard a lot of times.The only good thing is you can be more relaxed before the show.

I have never seen hard pushing in the fos area but with such a szenario I could imagine a big confusion:

people rushing and pushing - argueing with other people who still want to sit - chairs all inbetween (outch) and most of all: the local german security people who always think they are so important and who take their job so seriously. I don´t know - have never been to a seated rock n roll concert.
